Abstract This work studies the use of various s...
Single-walled carbon nanotubes (SWCNTs) have emerged as one of the leading additives for high-capacity nanocomposite lithium ion battery electrodes due to their ability to improve electrode conductivity, current collection efficiency, and charge/discharge rate for high power applications. However, since as-grown SWCNTs possess a distribution of physical and electronic structures, it is of high ...
Single-walled carbon nanotubes (SWCNTs) demonstrate a unique combination of optical, chemical, and physical properties that render them suitable for a variety of sensing applications. Their photostable near-infrared (nIR) fluorescence emissions are highly sensitive to perturbations in the surrounding SWCNT environment, enabling optical sensors with single-molecule detection limits. Despite thes...
Single-walled carbon nanotubes (SWCNTs) were solubilized by microplasma in pH-controlled aqueous solution. The SWCNTs were highly dispersed and solubilized in water under higher pH condition (pH > 9). Surface of the SWCNT was functionalized by carboxylate ion (-COO) and negatively charged during the microplasma treatment. A possible mechanism of water-solubility of SWCNT was briefly discussed.
Temporal and spatial changes in neurotransmitter concentrations are central to information processing in neural networks. Therefore, biosensors for neurotransmitters are essential tools for neuroscience. In this work, we applied a new technique, corona phase molecular recognition (CoPhMoRe), to identify adsorbed polymer phases on fluorescent single-walled carbon nanotubes (SWCNTs) that allow fo...
An aqueous solution containing photosynthetic reaction centers (RCs), membrane scaffold proteins (MSPs), phospholipids, and single-walled carbon nanotubes (SWCNTs) solubilized with the surfactant sodium cholate (SC) reversibly self-assembles into a highly ordered structure upon dialysis of the latter. The resulting structure is photoelectrochemically active and consists of 4-nm-thick lipid bila...
The integration of low-dimensional materials with optical waveguides presents promising opportunities for enhancing light manipulation in passive photonic circuits. In this study, we investigate the potential aerosol-synthesized single-walled carbon nanotube (SWCNT) films silicon nitride circuits as a basis developing integrated optics devices. Specifically, by measuring response SWCNT-covered ...
Single-walled carbon nanotube encapsulated in boron nitrite (SWCNT@BNNT) is a novel nanomaterial with one-dimensional van der Waals (1D-vdW) heterostructure. In this paper, we demonstrated that the SWCNT@BNNT has an enhanced optical power tolerance compared to of pristine SWCNT while exhibiting saturable absorption properties. Under intensity 13kW/cm2, lifetime found be 2,270 times longer than ...
By using Greens function method we first show that the effective interaction between two electrons mediated by plasmon exchange can become attractive which in turn can lead to superconductivity at a high critical temperature in a singl wall carbon nanotubes (SWCNT). The superconducting transition temperature Tc for the SWCNT (3,3) obtained by this mechanism agrees with the recent experimental...
The electron transfer dynamics and electrocatalytic behaviour of ferrocene-terminated self-assembled monolayers (SAMs), co-adsorbed with single-walled carbon nanotubes (SWCNTs) on a gold electrode, have been interrogated for the first time. Ferrocene monocarboxylic acid (FMCA) or ferrocene dicarboxylic acid (FDCA) was covalently attached to the cysteamine (Cys) monolayer to form Au-Cys-FMCA and...
