Albumin is a globular protein of plasma mammalian blood participating in transport hydrophobic metabolites and drugs. Thus, studies devoted to its binding are valuable as part evaluation new potential drugs or fluorescent probes for vivo usage. Here we describe results concerning synthesis bovine serum albumin assay both silico (docking) vitro (spectrophotometric spectrofluorimetric titrations)...
A rapid spectrophotometric determination for 2,4,6-trinitrotoluene (TNT) is significant because this method is suitable for simultaneous analyses of the numerous samples. We found one problem that TNT reduction products interfere with the TNT detection in this assay, and we overcame this problem by heating the samples at 95 degrees C, resulting in the production of compounds that did not interf...
A method is described for monitoring the enzyme-mediated unwinding of duplex DNA spectrophotometrically. The assay employs a partially duplex oligonucleotide substrate modified at the complementary end with coumarin and fluorescein moieties. When in close proximity the fluorescein quenches the fluorescence of coumarin. However, when the strands are separated by the action of a DNA helicase, the...
A simple and reproducible spectrophotometric method has been developed for the determination of valacyclovir in bulk and pharmaceutical dosage forms. The proposed method was based on the formation of chloroform extractable complex of valacyclovir with wool fast blue. The absorbance of the extractable ion pair complex is measured at the wavelength of maximum absorbance 585 nm against the reagent...
Diclofenac is a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID). A efficient, simple and least time consuming spectrophotometric method for the assay of diclofenac sodium has been developed. Comparison of assay of four different brands of diclofenac sodium (Dicloran, Defnac, Artifin, voltral) has also been done available in public medical store of Karachi, Pakistan. The assay is based on the ultrav...
Although serum angiotensin converting enzyme (EC 3.4.15.1) activity has generally been shown to be increased in patients with sarcoidosis, considerable variation in the diagnostic usefulness of this test has been reported. We investigated the possibility that this variation may be the result of inhibition of the widely used spectrophotometric assay by various substances. We also prospectively e...
A sensitive, precise enzymic/spectrophotometric method for determining cytochrome b5 in small amounts of blood is described. Mean values for healthy individuals, ages 20 to 70 years, were 0.26 (SD 0.03) mumol per liter of erythrocytes or 0.87 (SD 0.14) nmol per gram of hemoglobin. We believe the assay is preferable to methods described hitherto, primarily because of its high sensitivity.
