This review presents an overview of silver nanoparticles (Ag NPs) preparation by green synthesis approaches that have advantages over conventional methods involving chemical agents associated with environmental toxicity. Green synthetic methods include mixed-valence polyoxometallates, polysaccharide, Tollens, irradiation, and biological. The mixed-valence polyoxometallates method was carried ou...
The present work deals with Sphaeranthus indicus leaf extract used as a capping and reducing agent for silver nanoparticles (Ag NPs) synthesis. Synthesized nanoparticles were characterized by UV-Vis, FT-IR, XRD, SEM with EDX and TEM analysis. The UV–Visible spectra of Ag NPs exhibited a surface plasmon resonance peak at 424 nm. FT-IR analysis determined the vibration functional group to respons...
The morphology and anti bacterial activity of capped Silver Nanoparticles of 5-Methyl 2-mercapto benzimidazole prepared via chemical reduction is studied. Spherical shaped capped Ag-NPs with size of 40nm are obtained by treatment of aqueous silver ions with ethanolic solution of 5-Methyl 2-mercapto benzimidazole as capping agent .The synthesized nanoparticles are characterized by SEM, TEM, XRD,...
BACKGROUND Phytotherapeutics exhibit diverse pharmacological effects that are based on the combined action of a mixture of phytoconstituents. In this study, Prunus domestica gum-loaded, stabilized gold and silver nanoparticles (Au/Ag-NPs) were evaluated for their prospective anticancer, antibacterial, urease-inhibition, anti-inflammatory, and analgesic properties. METHODS Au/Ag-NPs were biosy...
Silver nanoparticles (Ag NPs) were synthesized by the chemical reducing method in the external and interlamellar space of montmorillonite (MMT) as a solid support at room temperature. AgNO(3) and NaBH(4) were used as a silver precursor and reducing agent, respectively. The most favorable experimental conditions for synthesizing Ag NPs in the MMT are described in terms of the initial concentrati...
We report a facile green approach to the synthesis of silver nanoparticles (Ag NPs) on the surface of graphene oxide nanosheets functionalized with mussel-inspired dopamine (GO-Dopa) without additional reductants or stabilizers at room temperature. The resulting hybrid Ag/GO-Dopa exhibits good dispersity and excellent catalytic activity in the reduction of nitroarenes.
A facile and rapid photochemical method for preparing supported silver nanoparticles (Ag-NPs) in a suspension of faujasite type (FAU) zeolite nanocrystals is described. Silver cations are introduced by ion exchange into the zeolite and subsequently irradiated with a Xe-Hg lamp (200 W) in the presence of a photoactive reducing agent (2-hydroxy-2-methylpropiophenone). UV-vis characterization indi...
Immunotoxicity studies of nanoparticles on T cells addressed their effects on activation by T antigen receptor, but have neglected the regulation of proliferation by IL-2. In this study, the IL-2-dependent T lymphoblastoid WE17/10 cell line was used to compare silver (Ag-NPs) and fullerene (C60-NPs) nanoparticles' toxicity and evaluate whether these NPs could interfere with IL-2-dependent proli...
Pseudomonas aeruginosa is one of the most common causes of keratitis. The current study was done to evaluate the therapeutic effects of antibacterial combinations with Silver nanoparticles (Ag-NPs) and Ciprofloxacin in experimental Pseudomonas keratitis. Sixty four New Zealand rabbits were prepared. All rabbits were randomly categorized into eight groups (each group containing eight rabbits): C...
Introduction: The unique properties of silver nanoparticles (Ag-NPs) produced using plant extract make them attractive for use in medical and industrial applications. Bunium persicum from the Apiaceae family is native to Iran, Afghanistan, Pakistan, and some Central Asian countries, which is locally known as "Kermanin Black Cumin" in Iran. In this study, Ag-NPs were synthesized using methanol e...
