We estimate the decay rates of ηc → 2γ, η c → 2γ, and J/ψ → ee, ψ → ee, by taking into account both relativistic and QCD radiative corrections. The decay amplitudes are derived in the Bethe-Salpeter formalism. The Bethe-Salpeter equation with a QCD-inspired interquark potential are used to calculate the wave functions and decay widths for these cc̄ states. We find that the relativistic correctio...

The effect of curvature on the results of fractal analyses of the galaxy distribution is investigated. We show that, if the universe satisfies the criteria of a wide class of parabolic homogeneous models, the observers measuring the fractal index with the integrated conditional density procedure may use the Hubble formula, without having to allow for curvature, out to distances of 600 Mpc, and ...

Benchmark variational calculations are performed for the seven lowest 1s(2)2s np ((1)P), n = 2...8, states of the beryllium atom. The calculations explicitly include the effect of finite mass of (9)Be nucleus and account perturbatively for the mass-velocity, Darwin, and spin-spin relativistic corrections. The wave functions of the states are expanded in terms of all-electron explicitly correlat...

The inclusive S−wave charmonium production rates in B decays are considered using the Bodwin-Braaten-Lepage (BBL) approach, including the relativistic corrections and the color-octet mechanism suggested as a possible solution to the ψ ′ puzzle at the Tevatron. We first consider relativistic and radiative corrections to J/ψ → ee and J/ψ → Light Hadrons (LH), in order to determine two nonperturba...

A systematic method for calculating higher-order corrections of the relativistic semiclassical fixed-energy amplitude is given. The central scheme in computing corrections of all orders is related to a time ordering operation of an operator involving the Van Vleck determinant. This study provides us a new viewpoint for quantization. PACS 03.20.+i; 04.20.Fy; 02.40.+m Typeset using REVTEX ∗e-mail...

The leading relativistic and QED corrections to the ground-state energy of the three-body system e−e+e− are calculated numerically using a Hylleraas correlated basis set. The accuracy of the nonrelativistic variational ground state is discussed with respect to the convergence of the energy with increasing size of the basis set, and also with respect to the variance of the Hamiltonian. The corre...

Two-loop contributions to the electromagnetic form factors are calculated in the kinematic regime close to the fermion-antifermion threshold. The results are presented in an expansion in the velocity β of the fermions in the c.m. frame up to next-to-next-to leading order in β. The existence of a new Coulomb singularity logarithmic in β, which is closely related to the O(α 2 ln α) corrections kn...

If their number density is high enough, clusters of axions can decay to photons via stimulated emission. We study both the special and general relativistic corrections lasing in such dense axion as they evolve static spacetimes. Our main results are rate equations for evolution photon densities that include these corrections. use Schwarzschild spacetime a detailed example.

We estimate the decay rates of c ! 2 , 0 c ! 2 , and J= ! e + e , 0 ! e + e , by taking into account both relativistic and QCD radiative corrections. We consider the motion of a massive particle in static, weakly-curved spacetime where gravitational field is taken to be quantized. find that Newton's law free-fall modified by quantum-gravitational corrections, addition known special-relativistic and post-Newtonian modifications. The corrections take form stochastic noise trajectory, statistical properties depend on quantum state field.
