Memory-mapped networks such as Scalable Coherent Interconnect (SCI) [5] and Memory Channel [4] offer a new method for constructing network peripherals by remoting a host’s IO bus. This paper details our experiences from building such an endpoint, and examines how greater support may be provided.

In this paper, we revisit one-channel time reversal (TR) experiments through multiple scattering media in the framework of the multiple scattering theory. The hyperresolution and the self-averaging property are retrieved. The developed formalism leads to a deeper understanding of the role of the ladder and most-crossed diagrams in a TR experiment and also establishes the link between TR and coh...

The problem of optimal illumination for selective array imaging of small and not well separated scatterers in clutter is considered. The imaging algorithms introduced are based on the coherent interferometric (CINT) imaging functional, which can be viewed as a smoothed version of travel-time migration. The smoothing gives statistical stability to the image but it also causes blurring. The trade...

The phenomenon of enhanced backscattering (EBS) of light, also known as coherent backscattering (CBS) of light, has been the object of intensive investigation in nonbiological media over the last two decades. However, there have been only a few attempts to explore EBS for tissue characterization and diagnosis. We have recently made progress in the EBS measurements in tissue by taking advantage ...

PURPOSE Bladder cancer presents as a spectrum of different diatheses. Accurate assessment for individualized treatment depends on initial diagnostic accuracy. Detection relies on white light cystoscopy accuracy and comprehensiveness. Aside from invasiveness and potential risks, white light cystoscopy shortcomings include difficult flat lesion detection, precise tumor delineation to enable compl...

Zinc phthalocyanine substituted with four hydroxyl groups attached to the macrocycle, either directly or via spacer chains of three or six carbon atoms, were tested for their photodynamic ability to inactivate Chinese hamster lung fibroblasts (line V-79) in vitro, and to induce regression of EMT-6 tumours grown subcutaneously in Balb/c mice. Their potential to inflict direct cell killing during...
