Renal oxygen consumption (Vo(2,ren)) is an important parameter that has been shown to be influenced by various pathophysiological circumstances. Vo(2,ren) has to be repeatedly measured during an experiment to gain insight in the dynamics of (dys)regulation of oxygen metabolism. In small animals, the classical approach of blood gas analysis of arterial and venous blood samples is only limitedly ...
A wide-ranging overview of room temperature phosphorescence in the liquid state (RTPL1) is presented, with a focus on recent developments. RTPL techniques like micelle-stabilized (MS)-RTP, cyclodextrin-induced (CD)-RTP, and heavy atom-induced (HAI)-RTP are discussed. These techniques are mainly applied in the stand-alone format, but coupling with some separation techniques appears to be feasibl...
A new family of room-temperature phosphorescence (RTP) MOFs with promising photophysical properties for engineering optical sensors and electroluminescent devices.
The first hexagonal octadecanuclear Ag macrocycle [Ag(18)(TTTMB)(12)](NO(3))(18)·30H(2)O has been hydrothermally synthesized. The outside and inner diameters of the unprecedented architecture are about 27.72(13) Å and 15.37(7) Å, respectively. This complex displays a huge increase in the intensity and lifetime of phosphorescence with decreasing temperature.
Phosphorescence-sensitized fluorescence (PSF) shows a great potential on overcoming the 25% internal quantum efficiency limit for fluorescent OLEDs. Other than vacuum thermal deposition, herein we report solution-processed PSF. As a...
Organic boroxines are ubiquitous, but metallaboroxine analogues remain rare. A new class of (boroxinato)gold species are demonstrated here, as are observations of phosphorescence from boroxinato complexes. Four new compounds are crystallographically characterized.
Both neutral and cationic iridium(III) complexes containing carborane units were synthesized. Bulky carboranes can significantly improve phosphorescence quantum yields of these complexes and the electronic effect of carboranes can evidently tune emission wavelengths of cationic complexes.
The geometries, electronic structures, photophysical properties and spin-orbit coupling (SOC) effects in the radiative process for the recently synthesized complexes (Bppy)Pt(acac) (1) and (BNppy)Pt(acac) (2) as well as the designed complexes 3-6 were investigated by DFT and TD-DFT calculations, to reveal the influences of the functional ligands on charge injection ability and phosphorescence e...
