Fault currents of inverter-interfaced distributed generators (IIDGs) depend on inverter controllers. Thus, IIDGs fault are different than those synchronous-based DGs, both from the magnitude and waveshape perspectives. In event short-circuit faults, droop-based switch between a voltage source current source, which increases complexity non-linearity calculation (SCC). This paper proposes new SCC...
An overview of overcurrent and overvoltage CSI faults is presented and strategies, how to protect a CSI equipped with IGBT power switches against these failures are developed and explained. The shown strategies and the related circuits are applicable at low expense and require only minor changes in the CSI and its control.
This paper concerns two-hop communication over relay-assisted Block fading channel. It is assumed there is not a direct link between the transmitter and the affiliated destination and the communication occurs in two hops through the use of a relay, where the amplify and forward (AF) strategy is employed at this node. In this case, in a Rayleigh block fading channel, the optimal weight function ...
This article shows practical rules which were developed for the adjustment of Numerical Overcurrent Functions (NOCF) microprocessor-based protective relays in order to avoid their maloperation due Transformer Magnetizing Inrush Currents (TMIC). The TMIC waveforms are decaying and nonsinusoidal, effects different on instantaneous, definite-time, or inverse-time NOCF; thus, specific necessary eac...
Inverter-Based Resources (IBRs), including Wind turbine generators (WTGs), exhibit substantially different negative-sequence fault current characteristics compared to synchronous (SGs). These differences may cause misoperation of customary negative-sequence-based protective elements set under the assumption a conventional SG dominated power system. The amplitude WTG is smaller than that an SG. ...
From practical and theoretical viewpoints, performance analysis of communication systems by using information-theoretic results is important. In this paper, based on our previous work on Multiple Access Channel (MAC) and Multiple Access Relay Channel (MARC), we analyze the impact of a relay on the fundamental wireless communications concept, i.e., coverage region of MARC, as a basic model for u...
In this channel,we study rate region of a Gaussian two-way diamond channel which operates in half-duplex mode. In this channel, two transceiver (TR) nodes exchange their messages with the help of two relay nodes. We consider a special case of the Gaussian two-way diamond channels which is called Compute-and-Forward Multiple Access Channel (CF-MAC). In the CF-MAC, the TR nodes transmit their mes...
Accurate models for Overcurrent relays (OC) with inverse time characteristics have an important role for efficient coordination of power system protection devices. This paper proposes a new method for modelling of OC relays based on fuzzy logic. The new model is more accurate than traditional models and has been validated by comparing it with the linear and nonlinear analytical models.
abstract—in this paper, the problem of secure transmission in two-hop amplify-and-forward (af) systems with an untrusted relay is investigated. to prevent the untrusted relay from intercepting the source message and to achieve positive secrecy rate, the destination-based cooperative jamming (dbcj) technique is used. in this method the destination sends an intended jamming signal to the relay. t...
