This paper investigates the issue of the internal stability of nonlinear delay systems controlled with a feedback law that performs exact input–output, linearization and delay cancellation. In previous works the authors showed that, unlike with the case of systems without state delays, when the relative degree is equal to the number of state variables and the output is forced to be identically ...
Cable robots are structurally the same as parallel robots but with the basic difference that cables can only pull the platform and cannot push it. This feature makes control of cable robots a lot more challenging compared to parallel robots. This paper introduces a controller for cable robots under force constraint. The controller is based on input-output linearization and linear model predicti...
This paper addresses suboptimal control of nonlinear systems which can be feedbacklinearized from input to output. The case of input-to-state linearizable systems is also covered as a special case. The method is thus applicable to all nonlinear systems which can be partially linearized using the method of output-feedback linearization while having a stable internal (or zero) dynamics. The well-...
Power amplifiers (PAs) are vital components in many communication systems. To be transmitted wirelessly, a signal must be amplified with high fidelity so as to account for attenuation through the channel or propagation medium. The linearity of a PA response constitutes an important factor that ensures signal integrity and reliable performance of the communication system. Unfortunately, PAs are ...
Nonminimum phase difficulties prevent the use of input-output feedback linearization. To avoid this problem, earlier work proposed the use of synthetic outputs with the view of placing zeros in prescribed locations under a condition of static equivalence. The objective here is also to introduce a synthetic output. However this is defined through the use of dynamic perturbations aimed at yieldin...
Nonlinear control design techniques for a class of continuous biological processes with growth and production decoupling are investigated. We establish, under realistic assumptions on the kinetics, that though neither the inlet substrate concentration nor the dilution rate can achieve linearization of the global dynamics, we can maximize the dimension of the linear system obtained after feedbac...
Incremental processing is a promising way to improve the performance of natural language generation systems. It imposes speci c requirements upon the linearization process and its underlying representation formalism. In this work, we will discuss these requirements and present an extension of the TAG{formalism that has been developed and utilized for the incremental syntactic generator VM{GEN i...
In this paper we propose a generative model for graphs formulated as a variational autoencoder. We sidestep hurdles associated with linearization of graphs by having the decoder output a probabilistic fully-connected graph of a predefined maximum size directly at once. We evaluate on the challenging task of molecule generation.
The problem of stabilization and trajectory tracking of feedback linearizable systems in the presence of input saturation is considered in this paper. The need to perform output tracking for nonlinear systems dictates the choice of feedback linearization in our control design. Explicit characterization of the space of feasible trajectories that can be tracked using bounded inputs is provided.
