The first Red-Sea Indo-Pacific alien moray eel in the Eastern Mediterranean is reported here. A single specimen ot Gymnothorax reticularis was captured by a commercial bottom-trawl vessel off the northern coast of Israel. Morphological and anatomical similarities with the single known Red-Sea specimen raise an old taxonomic dilemma.

Eight specimens of the slender ponyfish Equulites elongatus were collected, by otter trawl, between 6 December 2014 and 18 April 2015 from Turkish waters, off Mersin. This constitutes the second record of this species in the Mediterranean Sea and is about 530 km distant from the site of first record (Tel Aviv, Israel).

This investigation was carried out for the determination of fish species living in Bandırma Bay (Sea of Marmara). Morphometric and meristic characters of of fishes caught by trawl and various nets in Bandırma Bay in the years of 1998-1999 were examined and some morphological, ecological properties, and local names of 34 determined species are given.
