Methicillin-resistant Staphylocoocus aureus (MRSA) harboring mecA(LGA251) has been isolated from humans and ruminants. Database screening identified this MRSA variant in cats, dogs, and a guinea pig in Germany during 2008-2011. The novel MRSA variant is not restricted to ruminants or humans, and contact with companion animals might pose a zoonotic risk.

Conglutinin, a collagenous C-type lectin, acts as soluble pattern recognition receptor (PRR) in recognition of pathogens. In the present study, genes encoding neck and carbohydrate recognition domain (NCRD) of conglutinin in goat and blackbuck were amplified, cloned, and sequenced. The obtained 488 bp ORFs encoding NCRD were submitted to NCBI with accession numbers KC505182 and KC505183. Both n...

Various science researches have shown that meat of ruminants has more desirable fatty acid composition and a ratio between ω-6 and ω-3 fatty acids (lower than 4.0) because of lower content of linoleic, and a higher content of ω-3 polyunsaturated fatty acids, especially linolenic fatty acid. The aim of the present study is to examine researches about feeding modulation of the fatty acid composit...
