Background. One of the problems with composite resin restorations is gap formation at resin‒tooth interface. The present study evaluated the effect of preheating cycles of silorane- and dimethacrylate-based composite resins on gap formation at the gingival margins of Class V restorations. Methods. In this in vitro study, standard Class V cavities were prepared on the buccal surfaces of 48 bovin...

Background Not only the gaps at dentin-sealer interface but also at core-sealer interface may jeopardize the outcome of root canal treatment. Aim The aim of this in vitro scanning electron microscopic (SEM) study was to determine which root canal sealer among AH-Plus, GuttaFlow, and RealSeal provides a superior marginal adaptation with the core obturating material in the apical third region o...

OBJECTIVE The aim of this study was to evaluate the marginal adaptation of Biodentine in comparison with Mineral Trioxide Aggregate (MTA) and Intermediate Restorative Material (IRM), as a root end filling material, using Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM). MATERIALS AND METHODS Thirty permanent maxillary central incisors were chemo-mechanically prepared and obturated. Three millimetres of the...

OBJECTIVE This study evaluated marginal integrity of bonded posterior resin composite fillings to enamel and dentine with and without 4mm flowable base, before and after thermo-mechanical loading (TML). METHODS 80 MOD cavities with one proximal box beneath the CEJ were prepared in extracted human third molars. Direct resin composite restorations (SDR with CeramX mono, Tetric EvoCeram, Filtek ...

The purpose of this in vitro study was to compare the precision of fit of substructures milled from semi-sintered zirconia blocks, fabricated with two different fabrication concepts. Three-unit, posterior fixed dental prostheses (FDP) were fabricated for standardized dies (n = 10) with the laboratory Computer Aided Design (CAD)/Computer Aided Manufacturing (CAM) system Cercon® Brain (Brain) and...

Background Complete seal at dentin-sealer-core interface of the root canal is required to maintain long-term periapical health. Aim The aim of this in vitro scanning electron microscopic (SEM) study was to determine which of the commonly used root canal sealer among AH-Plus, GuttaFlow, and RealSeal provides a superior marginal adaptation with the dentin in the apical third region of root cana...

PURPOSE The purposes of this study were to evaluate the marginal and internal gaps, and the potential clinical applications of three different methods of dental prostheses fabrication, and to compare the prostheses prepared using the silicone replica technique (SRT) and those prepared using the three-dimensional superimposition analysis (3DSA). MATERIALS AND METHODS Five Pekkton, lithium disi...

Objectives. Digital impressions are increasingly used and have the potential to avoid the problem of inaccurate impressions. Only a few studies to verify the accuracy of digital impressions have been performed. The purpose of this study was to compare the marginal and internal fit of 3-unit tooth supported fixed dental prostheses (FDPs) fabricated from digital and conventional impressions. Meth...

The gap between marginal revenues and marginal costs of inputs (i.e., distortions or wedges) at establishments potentially lower aggregate total factor productivity (TFP) by preventing efficient allocation of resources among incumbents, deterring entry and exit, and affecting technology choices. We investigate the impacts of distortions on aggregate TFP, entry and exit, and establishment-level ...

Numerical results for the first gap of the Lyapunov spectrum of the selfdual random-bond Ising model on strips are analysed. It is shown that finite-width corrections can be fitted very well by an inverse logarithmic form, predicted to hold when the Hamiltonian contains a marginal operator.
