Network analysis and visualization have been used in systems biology to extract biological insight from complex datasets. Many existing network analysis tools either focus on visualization but have limited scalability, or focus on analysis but have limited visualizations. The separation of analyzing the raw data from visualizing the analysis results causes systems biologists to jump between for...

We present the Human Muscle Gene Map (HMGM), the first comprehensive and updated high-resolution expression map of human skeletal muscle. The 1078 entries of the map were obtained by merging data retrieved from UniGene with the RH mapping information on 46 novel muscle transcripts, which showed no similarity to any known sequence. In the map, distances are expressed in megabase pairs. About one...

This paper describes the participation of GIRSA at GeoCLEF 2008, the geographic information retrieval task at CLEF. GIRSA is a modified and improved variant of the system which participated at GeoCLEF 2007. It combines results retrieved with methods from information retrieval (IR) on geographically annotated data and question answering (QA) employing query decomposition. For the monolingual Ger...

We present observations of the Sunyaev-Zel’dovich effect (SZE) in the Bullet cluster (1E 0657–56) using the APEX-SZ instrument at 150 GHz with a resolution of 1′. The main results are maps of the SZE in this massive, merging galaxy cluster. The cluster is detected with 23σ significance within the central 1′ radius of the source position. The SZE map has a broadly similar morphology to that in e...

This paper describes a project undertaken at BAE SYSTEMS to study the process of Continuous Improvement (CI) from a knowledge perspective. We used the Knowledge Structure Mapping (KSM) technique to identify ways of managing the underlying knowledge resource in order to share and disseminate best practice and thereby increase the effectiveness of CI on site. A secondary goal was to investigate t...

Existing efforts on ontology mapping, alignment and merging vary from methodological and theoretical frameworks, to methods and tools that support the semi-automatic coordination of ontologies. However, only latest research efforts “touch” on the mapping /merging of ontologies using the whole breadth of available knowledge. This paper aims to thoroughly describe the HCONE approach on ontology m...

Concept-level integration requires inference about domain ontology to make a decision for integration between a pair of classes. Ontologies can be developed independently. We have presented a new approach which merges these ontologies. This approach will also is compared with other solutions that already exist in the research community. Also, we present a tool to allow all computer users to dev...

The monocular visual-inertial system (VINS), which consists one camera and one low-cost inertial measurement unit (IMU), is a popular approach to achieve accurate 6-DOF state estimation. However, such locally accurate visualinertial odometry is prone to drift and cannot provide absolute pose estimation. Leveraging history information to relocalize and correct drift has become a hot topic. In th...

Standard state-merging DFA induction algorithms, such as RPNI or Blue-Fringe, aim at inferring a regular language from positive and negative strings. In particular, the negative information prevents merging incompatible states: merging those states would lead to produce an inconsistent DFA. Whenever available, domain knowledge can also be used to extend the set of incompatible states. We introd...

The protection of digital content is increasingly becoming a significant issue for researchers and engineers. In this context, nonlinear dynamic systems play vital role in information security through their chaotic behavior susceptibility to initial conditions. This research presents 3D map-based symmetric algorithm multiple images improve encryption efficiency encourage secure transmission. pr...
