Polyclonal and monoclonal antibodies to Mycoplasma pneumoniae protein P1 were nonreactive with whole-cell or soluble preparations of M. genitalium and M. gallisepticum. However, radioimmunoprecipitation performed with hyperimmune rabbit sera raised against each mycoplasma species indicated antigenic cross-reactivity between M. pneumoniae and M. genitalium.

We extend Post’s programme to finite levels of the Ershov hierarchy of ∆2 sets, and characterise, in the spirit of Post [9], the degrees of the immune and hyperimmune d.c.e. sets. We also show that no properly d.c.e. set can be hh-immune, and indicate how to generalise these results to n-c.e. sets, n > 2.

Two cases of "cold" (simple) haemolytic anaemia are described. The serological investigation showed conclusively that the sera of both patients contained an anti-I antibody and that their cells were I positive. The antibody found is thus a true auto-antibody. This is in keeping with the findings obtained previously in the "warm" (hyperimmune) type of haemolytic anaemia.
