A force field (FF) is reported for hydrazine (N2H4) and organic hydrazine derivatives, including monomethylhydrazine, 1,1-dimethylhydrazine, monoethyl hydrazine, and 2-hydroxyethylhydrazine. The FF successfully reproduces a range of equilibrium properties, including vapor–liquid coexistence densities, vapor pressures, enthalpies of vaporization, and critical properties. Several dynamic properti...

The authors report a detailed investigation of the flicker noise (1/f noise) in graphene films obtained from chemical vapour deposition (CVD) and chemical reduction of graphene oxide. The authors find that in the case of polycrystalline graphene films grown by CVD, the grain boundaries and other structural defects are the dominant source of noise by acting as charged trap centres resulting in h...

Herein, we demonstrate a facile approach to synthesize long nickel nanowires and discuss its suitability to replace our commonly used transparent electrode, indium-tin-oxide (ITO), by a hydrazine hydrate reduction method where nickel ions are reduced to nickel atoms in an alkaline solution. The highly purified nickel nanowires show high transparency within the visible region, although the sheet...

We demonstrate reduced graphene oxide as the active material for high-performance molecular sensors. Sensors are fabricated from exfoliated graphene oxide platelets that are deposited to form an ultrathin continuous network. These graphene oxide networks are tunably reduced toward graphene by varying the exposure time to a hydrazine hydrate vapor. The conductance change of the networks upon exp...

Because of high toxicity of hydrazine and its derivatives, many efforts are conducted to finding alternative for hydrazine in hypergolic fuels which meanwhile can do spontaneous ignition, has a low environment risk. Due to high reducing ability of hydrazine, usage of powerful conducing agents’ idea was interested. These conducting agents required to improvement in order to use as a hyperg...

PURPOSE Hydrazine is carcinogenic in animals, but there is inadequate evidence to determine if it is carcinogenic in humans. This study aimed to evaluate the association between hydrazine exposure and the risk of lung cancer. METHODS The cause specific mortality rates of a cohort of 427 men who were employed at an English factory that produced hydrazine between 1945 and 1971 were compared wit...

2-Oxo-4-phenyl-1,2,5,6,7,8-hexahydroquinoline-3-carbonitrile (10) reacted with hydrazine hydrate, phenylisothiocyanate or benzoyl chloride to give derivatives 12, 13 and 15, respectively. The latter two products were treated with hydrazine hydrate to afford pyrozole[3,4-b]quinolines derivatives 14 and 16, respectively. Compound 10 also reacted with acetonitrile dimer or malononitrile dimer to y...

The title compound, C(13)H(12)N(4)OS·0.5C(3)H(7)NO, contains four hydrazine mol-ecules and two solvent mol-ecules in the asymmetric unit. The dihedral angles between the pyridine and phenyl rings in the hydrazine mol-ecules are 67.51 (16), 68.28 (16), 81.36 (15) and 83.32 (15)°. In the crystal, the mol-ecules are linked by N-H⋯N, N-H⋯O and N-H⋯S hydrogen bonds.

Hydrogen evolution reaction is catalysed efficiently with precious metals, such as platinum; however, transition metal dichalcogenides have recently emerged as a promising class of materials for electrocatalysis, but these materials still have low activity and durability when compared with precious metals. Here we report a simple one-step scalable approach, where MoOx/MoS2 core-shell nanowires ...
