Topological indices are widely used as mathematical tools to analyze different types of graphs emerged in a broad range of applications. The Hyper-Zagreb index (HM) is an important tool because it integrates the first two Zagreb indices. In this paper, we characterize the trees and unicyclic graphs with the first four and first eight greatest HM-value, respectively.

Sows were randomly selected and assigned to either the Hurnik-Morris system (HM; n = 59) or a conventional gestation crate system (GC; n = 90) before breeding. The HM system provides housing for sows in small groups. All sows were bred to Duroc x Hampshire commercial boars. A common farrowing barn with 18 farrowing crates was used for the HM and GC sows. The HM sows had less (P<.001) backfat at...

BACKGROUND The objective of this study was to assess the regional geometry of the Heineke-Mikulicz (HM) strictureplasty. The HM intestinal strictureplasty is commonly performed for the treatment of stricturing Crohn's disease of the small intestine. This procedure shifts relatively normal proximal and distal tissue to the point of narrowing and thus increases the luminal diameter. The overall e...

This paper aims at evaluating heavy metals (HM) concentrations in modelled atmospheric deposition and biomonitors. The model LOTOS-EUROS (LE) yielded data on HM deposition at a spatial resolution of 25 km by 25 km throughout Europe. The European Monitoring and Evaluation Programme (EMEP) provided model calculations on 50 km by 50 km grids. Corresponding data on HM concentration in moss, leaves,...

Autologous engineered skin substitutes (ESS) have been shown to close excised, full-thickness burns, but are consistently hypopigmented due to depletion of human melanocytes (hM) during culture of keratinocytes. Hypothetically, addition of hM to ESS may restore uniform pigmentation, but may also promote neoplasia and tumor formation. To evaluate this risk, 16 strains of hM were isolated and pro...

PURPOSE To evaluate the efficacy of hydromorphone-OROS (HM-OROS) in reducing sleep disturbance and relieving cancer pain. MATERIALS AND METHODS One hundred twenty cancer patients with pain (numeric rating scale [NRS] ≥ 4) and sleep disturbance (NRS ≥ 4) were evaluated. The initial HM-OROS dosing was based on previous opioid dose (HM-OROS:oral morphine=1:5). Dose adjustment of the study drug w...

Activation of members of the protein kinase AGC (cAMP dependent, cGMP dependent, and protein kinase C) family is regulated primarily by phosphorylation at two sites: a conserved threonine residue in the activation loop and a serine/threonine residue in a hydrophobic motif (HM) near the COOH terminus. Although phosphorylation of these kinases in the activation loop has been found to be mediated ...

Conflicting data exist on the relevance of marathon (M) and half marathon (HM) running for health. The number of non-professional athletes finishing M and HM events is steadily growing. In order to investigate molecular changes occurring in amateur athletes, we enrolled 70 non-professional runners finishing a single M (34) or HM (36) event at baseline, the finish line and during recovery, and 3...

Although many haloarchaea produce biodegradable polyhydroxyalkanoates (PHAs), the genes involved in PHA synthesis in the domain of Archaea have not yet been experimentally investigated yet. In this study, we revealed that Haloarcula marismortui was able to accumulate poly(3-hydroxybutyrate) (PHB) up to 21% of cellular dry weight when cultured in a minimal medium with excessive glucose and ident...
