The diagnostic value of common ultrasound and contrast-enhanced ultrasonography (CEUS) in hepatic artery pseudoaneurysm (HAP) after liver transplantation was investigated. From January 2005 to November 2015, information was collected on 2,085 cases of orthotopic liver transplantation. The cases included 1,617 men and 468 women. Common ultrasound and CEUS were used to monitor arterial blood flow...
Background. Although rare, visceral artery pseudoaneurysms often present as surgical emergencies with a specific mortality rate as high as 35% related to aneurysmal rupture. Risk factors for the development of iatrogenic pseudoaneurysms include anticoagulation, female gender, obesity, and vessel calcification. Case Report. We present a case of an elderly female who developed a dissecting pseudo...
We describe a case of 43-year-old man who had a pseudoaneurysm of the medial superior genicular artery after arthroscopic partial meniscectomy with standard anterolateral and anteromedial portals. Pseudoaneurysm of the medial superior genicular artery has been reported at the previous superomedial portal site after arthroscopy. Described herein is a unique case that involved the medial superior...
Pulmonary artery pseudoaneurysm is a very rare complication of penetrating thoracic trauma. We present a case of a 27-year-old woman who developed a 6.5-cm traumatic pulmonary artery pseudoaneurysm after suffering multiple stab wounds to the chest and the abdomen. The pseudoaneurysm was successfully treated endovascularly with vascular plug occlusion and coil embolization.
A 42-year-old male was admitted due to syncope. 3D CT angiography demonstrated aortic paraannular abscess and pseudoaneurysm from sinus of Valsalva which has bulging contour to AV groove and right coronary artery. We performed abscess removal and debridement. Aortic root was reconstructed and the orifice of pseudoaneurysm was closed using autopericardium (Figs. 1 and 2). Fig. 1. 3D CT angiograp...
It has been reported that there are left and right hepatic arterial arcades via the blood vessels around hilar bile duct; therefore, when duct is preserved, artery reconstruction may not be necessary. We compared short-term long-term outcomes in patients with distal cholangiocarcinoma who underwent pancreatoduodenectomy (PD) resection without (RHAR group) those conventional PD. All data were re...

We report a case of a 74-year-old woman with a 16-year history of a double bilo-enteric anastomosis due to resected hilar cholangiocarcinoma (Type IIIb Klatskin tumor). The patient presented with cholangitis secondary to benign anastomotic stenosis which resulted in a large intrahepatic biloma. In order to restore the patency of the anastomosis and overcome cholangitis, several attempts took pl...
