the main theme to conduct present research work was to evaluate the effect of anaerobic granular sludge in degradation of two azo dyes. the study was evaluated in batch experiments where anaerobic and aerobic conditions were integrated by exposing anaerobic granular sludge to oxygen. under these conditions, the azo dyes were reduced, resulting in a temporal accumulation of aromatic amines. subs...

The Meissner effect in diffusive normal metal / insulator / d-wave superconductor junctions is studied theoretically in the framework of the Usadel equation under the generalized boundary condition. The effect of midgap Andreev resonant states (MARS) formed at the interface of d-wave superconductor is taken into account. It is shown that the formation of MARS suppresses the susceptibility of th...

We study macroscopic quantum tunneling of the magnetic moment in a single-domain particle placed above the surface of a superconductor. Such a setup allows one to manipulate the height of the energy barrier, preserving the degeneracy of the ground state. The tunneling amplitude and the effect of the dissipation in the superconductor are computed.

In this paper, the properties of the omnidirectional photonic band gap (OBG) realized by one-dimensional (1D) Fibonacci quasi-periodic structure which is composed of superconductor and isotropic dielectric have been theoretically investigated by the transfer matrix method (TMM). From the numerical results, it has been shown that this OBG is insensitive to the incident angle and the polarization...

Macroscopic mechanisms of applied current penetration in high-Tc superconductors are discussed to understand the basic physical trends, which are characteristic for the stable and unstable formation of the thermo-electrodynamics states of high-Tc superconductors placed in DC external magnetic field. The performed analysis shows that the definition of the current stability conditions of high-Tc ...

– We consider ferromagnetic particles embedded into a superconductor and study the screening of their magnetic moments by the spins of the Cooper pairs in the superconductor. It is shown that a magnetic moment opposite to the one of the ferromagnetic particle is induced in the superconductor. In the case of a small itinerant ferromagnet grain and low temperatures the full screening of the magne...

I A general two-dimensional analytical solution is presented for the / problem of transport current injection from a normal conductor into a I 1 superconductor and collection back into a normal conductor. The current distribution is solved for the general case which takes in the full range from essentially point source to full-width injection and collection. The current distribution also repres...

An Analog-to-Digital Converter (ADC) is a mixed-signal electronic circuit that converts an electrical signal from the analog domain to the digital domain, typically providing N binary bits at the sampling frequency f s. The higher speed of superconducting circuits comparable to conventional circuits provided an initial interest in superconductor technology for ADC applications. One can find tec...

Quasiclassical Green's functions of a short superconductor/normal metal/superconductor (SNS) junction are calculated for multi-mode junction with arbitrary electron transmission properties. They provide the basis for description of all of the junction transport characteristics , and are used to calculate the equilibrium spectral density of supercurrent fluctuations.

We calculate the tunneling conductance spectra of a normalmetal/insulator/triplet superconductor using the Blonder-Tinkham-Klapwijk (BTK) formulation. Possible states for the superconductor are considered with horizontal lines of nodes, breaking the time reversal symmetry. These results would be useful to discriminate between pairing states in superonductor Sr2RuO4 and also in UPt3. 74.20. z, 7...
