To determine whether rapid emergence of Salmonella enterica serovar Infantis in Israel resulted from an increase in different biotypes or spread of 1 clone, we characterized 87 serovar Infantis isolates on the genotypic and phenotypic levels. The emerging strain comprised 1 genetic clone with a distinct pulsed-field gel electrophoresis profile and a common antimicrobial drug resistance pattern.

classical lbp such as complexity and high dimensions of feature vectors that make it necessary to apply dimension reduction processes. in this paper, we introduce an improved lbp algorithm to solve these problems that utilizes fast pca algorithm for reduction of vector dimensions of extracted features. in other words, proffer method (fast pca+lbp) is an improved lbp algorithm that is extracted ...

the proposal lateral load pattern for pushover analysis is given in two forms for symmetric concrete buildings: 1-(x/h)0.5 for low-rise and mid-rise buildings, 2- sin(πx/h) for high-rise buildings. these two forms give more realistic results as compared to conventional load patterns such as triangular and uniform load patterns. the assumed buildings of 4, 8, 12, 16, 20 and 30 story concrete bui...

drug resistance enables cancer cells to break away from cytotoxic effect of anticancer drugs. identification of resistant phenotype is very important because it can lead to effective treatment plan. there is an interest in developing classifying models of resistance phenotype based on the multivariate data. we have investigated a vibrational spectroscopic approach in order to characterize a sen...

In the present study, Randomly Amplified Polymorphic DNA (RAPD) and Repetitive Extragenic Palindromic sequence-based Polymerase Chain Reaction (REP- PCR) were used to characterize 131 isolates of Pasteurella multocida, originating from different healthy and diseased animal species obtained from several geographical regions of Iran. The RAPD and REP-PCR generated amplified products in the range ...

BACKGROUND AND PURPOSE Twenty lactobacilli isolated from vaginal samples of healthy volunteers were characterized according to polyphasic taxonomy. A broad spectrum of activity and protective properties of these vaginal isolates has been reported. METHODS Phenotypic and genotypic methods such as random amplified polymorphic DNA (RAPD), species-specific and BOX polymerase chain reaction (PCR),...

The paper discusses the connection between pattern formation and nonlinear dynamics, focusing on the similarity between discrete patterns and fractal structures, and then describes different solutions to model reaction-diffusion systems as representative processes in morphogenesis. The option for a discrete model and the steps to design it as a fractal structure is argued. Construction of appro...
