We have investigated the pathway of prothrombin activation in blood and plasma. By means of a rapid purification procedure involving chromatography on DEAE-cellulose and hydroxyapatite, we demonstrated that the major prothrombin fragment in serum is that representing the amino-terminal half of prothrombin (i.e. F1-2). The F1-2 isolated was characterized by its size, amino acid and antigenic com...

In this paper, we present a Chinese event extraction system. We point out a language specific issue in Chinese trigger labeling, and then commit to discussing the contributions of lexical, syntactic and semantic features applied in trigger labeling and argument labeling. As a result, we achieved competitive performance, specifically, F-measure of 59.9 in trigger labeling and F-measure of 43.8 i...

Haldane's Rule and Darwin's Corollary to Haldane's Rule are the observations that heterogametic F1 hybrids are frequently less fit than their homogametic siblings, and that asymmetric results are often obtained from reciprocal hybrid crosses. In Caenorhabditis, Haldane's Rule and Darwin's Corollary have been observed in several hybrid crosses, including crosses of Caenorhabditis briggsae and C....

The purpose of this study was to estimate correlations between purebred and F1 crossbred performance to verify the appropriateness of current models used in multibreed selection. Records on birth weight (WB) and weaning weight (WW) from purebred Limousins (LIM) and Limousin × Angus progeny (F1) were used to estimate genetic parameters using a multiple-trait (purebred and F1 weights were differe...

The coupling factor ATPase (F1) from photosynthetic membranes of the cyanobacterium Spirulina platensis was purified to homogeneity by a combination of ion-exchange chromatography and sucrose density gradient centrifugation. The ATPase activity of purified Spirulina F1 is latent but can be elicited by trypsin treatment, resulting in specific activities (CaATPase) of 27-37 mumol Pi min-1 mg prot...

The circular economy is entirely in line with the European Commission’s long-term strategy aimed at moving toward an without any climate impact by 2050 (European Commission, 2018). Yet, to our knowledge, there little work that analyzes of on CO2 emissions Europe. objective this study analyze, level Union (EU-15), using Autoregressive-Distributed Lag model (ARDL). results over period 2000-2015 s...

We define and study the category Rep(Q, F1) of representations of a quiver in Vect(F1) the category of vector spaces ”over F1”. Rep(Q, F1) is an F1–linear category possessing kernels, co-kernels, and direct sums. Moreover, Rep(Q, F1) satisfies analogues of the Jordan-Hölder and Krull-Schmidt theorems. We are thus able to define the Hall algebra HQ of Rep(Q, F1), which behaves in some ways like ...

Our group within the University of Amsterdam participated in the large-scale visual concept detection task of ImageCLEF 2010. The submissions from our visual concept detection system have resulted in the best visual-only run in the per-concept evaluation. In the per-image evaluation , it achieves the highest score in terms of example-based F-measure across all types of runs.

This paper describes our system for detection and interpretation of English puns. We participated in 2 subtasks related to homographic puns achieve comparable results for these tasks. Through the paper we provide detailed description of the approach, as well as the results obtained in the task. Our models achieved an F1-score of 77.65% for Subtask 1 and 52.15% for Subtask 2.

We define the field F1 of one element as a λ-ring Z with the canonical λ-structure. We show that we can calculate the Riemann zeta function of integers in two ways: the first, geometrical, as the zeta function of the affine line F1[x] over F1 and the second, categorical, using a suitable category of modules over F1.
