We have measured the mass of the 2 boson to be 91.14f0.12 GeV/c2, and its width to be 2.42ti.f: GeV. If we constrain the visible width to its Standard Model value, we find the partial width to invisible decay modes to be 0.46 f 0.10 GeV, corresponding to 2.8 3~0.6 neutrino species, with a 95% confidence level upper limit of 3.9. c W e present an improved measurement of the 2 boson resonance par...

The data acquisition system for the SLD detector will make extensive use of parallel processing at the front-end level. Fastbus acquisition modules are being built with powerful processing capabilities for calibration, data reduction and further pre-processing of the large amount of analog data handled by each module. This paper describes the read-out electronics chain and data pre-processing s...

A fast second level trigger has been developed for the ARGUS experiment which recognizes tracks originating from the interaction region. The processor compares the hits in the ARGUS Micro Vertex Drift Chamber to 245760 masks stored in random access memories. The masks which are fully deened in three dimensions are able to reject tracks originating in the wall of the narrow beampipe of 10.5 mm r...

We report on electron identification methods and their performance in the Belle experiment at the KEK-B asymmetric B-Factory e+e− storage ring. Electrons are selected using a likelihood approach that takes information from the electromagnetic calorimeter, the central drift chamber, and the silica aerogel Cherenkov counters as input. We achieve an electron identification efficiency of (92.4±0.4)...

Current design and fabrication techniques of hybrid devices are explained for the Drift Chamber and the Liquid Ar-pon Calorimeter for the Stanford Linear Collider Large Detector (SLD) at SLAC. Methods of developing layouts, raging from hand-cut templates to advanced designs utilizing CAD tools with special hybrid design software were applied. Physical and electrical design rules for good yield ...
