We report three cases of contained rupture of the descending thoracic aorta managed by endovascular stent grafting and discuss the possibility of managing this life-threatening complication in emergency, by endoluminal devices. Further experience is needed to specify the indications for aortic stenting in descendant thoracic aortic ruptures.

Aortobronchial fistula (ABF) is a rare condition which can be lethal if left untreated. Open surgical treatment carries high morbidity and mortality. Recent advances in endovascular technology have made thoracic endovascular aortic repair (TEVAR) the treatment of choice. We present a successful endovascular repair of aortobronchial fistula due to a saccular aneurysm of descending thoracic aorta.

We describe the placement of an endovascular stent-graft in a patient with mycotic aneurysm of the descending thoracic aorta caused by Salmonella. Endovascular grafting combined with antibiotic therapy in thoracic mycotic aneurysms might represent an alternative to conventional surgery in patients with high operative risk.
