Chirality is rapidly induced in a fractal aggregate of the porphyrin t-CuPagg by addition of α-helical poly-glutamate. These results demonstrate a facile transfer of chirality via noncovalent interactions to preformed supramolecular assemblies grown in the absence of a chiral template.

Let's twist again: The chirality of a helical propeller-like micelle has been memorized by functional groups on the mesopore surface of chiral mesoporous silicas. Change of chirality of the first N-terminal amino acid of tripeptides VFF and FFV from l to d results in self-assembled hydrogels at physiological pH from non-assembling l-analogues. Interestingly, changing the chirality of F yields very different nanostructures; nanotapes are observed for (D)VFF, twisted fibers for (D)FFV.
