In recent decades, rapid technological innovation has facilitated a convergence between traditional face-toface and distributed (or technology-mediated) learning environments. These blended learning environments try to take advantage of the strengths of both archetypal learning environments (Graham, 2006). The emergence of blended learning is highlighted in higher education and in industry trai...
Blended learning is often associated with student-oriented learning in which students have varying degrees of control over their learning process. However, the current notion of blended learning is often a teacheroriented approach in which the teacher identifies the used learning technologies and thereby offers students a blended teaching course instead of a blended learning course (George-Walk...
The orbiting cycle and frequent cloud contamination have limited the applications of the moderate-resolution remotely sensed data for detecting rapid land cover changes that are critical to the monitoring of wetlands. It is necessary to use multiple remotely sensed data sources that have different spatial resolution and temporal frequency, because both spatial and temporal details are important...
In the twenty-first century, most high-performance concretes, and many other ordinary concretes, are now based on blended cements that contain silica fume, slag, and/or fly ash additions. Because the chemical shrinkage accompanying the pozzolanic and hydraulic reactions of these mineral admixtures is generally much greater than that accompanying conventional portland cement hydration, these ble...
Blended learning With the concerns and dissatisfaction with e-learning, educators are searching for alternative instructional delivery solutions to relieve the above problems. The blended e-learning system has been presented as a promising alternative learning approach. While blended learning has been recognized as having a number of advantages, insufficient learning satisfaction is still an ob...
We describe an efficient method for the direct preparation of N-substituted aryl amidines from nitriles and primary amines. The protocol employs activation of amines by a strong base and provides greater access to a pharmaceutically relevant functional group. This synthetic approach tolerates deactivated nitriles, nitriles with competing substitution sites, and aryl amines.
Studies directed at the amine exchange reaction of vinamidinium salts followed by sodium borohydride reduction to secondary and tertiary allylic amines are described. The tertiary allylic amines were alkylated and subjected to base mediated rearrangement to yield a variety of highly functionalized tertiary homoallylic amines.
Conjugated microporous polymers exhibit a synergistic structural effect on the exceptional uptake of amines, whereas the dense porphyrin units facilitate uptake, the high porosity offers a large interface and the swellability boosts capacity. They are efficient in the uptake of both vapor and liquid amines, are applicable to various types of amines, and are excellent for cycle use.
A ratiometric fluorescent probe for detection of biogenic primary amines with nanomolar sensitivity.
An ultrasensitive ratiometric fluorescent sensor made of an N,N-dimethylaminonaphthalene anhydride moiety for detection of aliphatic primary amines is reported. Biogenic amines at nanomolar concentration is detected with the additional ability to discriminate between primary, secondary and tertiary amines by using both UV-Visible and fluorescence spectroscopy.
Using a-tetralone, as starting material, a series of phencyclidine analogues were synthesized. This ketone was reacted separately with ethylmagnesium bromide, P-methoxyphenylmagnesium bromide and P-methylphenylmagnesium bromide. The resultant alcohols were treated with a suspension of NaN3 and CCl3COOH in CHCl3. The azides were subsequently...
