The advances in nanotechnology led to the development of new kinds engineered fluids called nanofluids. Nanofluids have several industrial and engineering applications, such as solar energy systems, heat conduction processes, nuclear chemical etc. motivation present work is analyze explore thermal dynamic behaviors a non-Newtonian fluid flow under time retardation effects. unsteady caused by bi...

Doppler optical coherence tomography (OCT) can image tissue structure and blood flow at micrometer-scale resolution but has limited imaging depth. We report a novel, linear-scanning, needle-based Doppler OCT system using angle-polished gradient-index or ball-lensed fibers. A prototype system with a 19-guage (diameter of approximately 0.9 mm) echogenic needle is constructed and demonstrates in v...

Bidirectional laser Doppler velocimetry (LDV) and fundus photography were applied to investigate the effects of light and darkness on retinal blood flow. Blood flow had increased by an average of 67% after 5 min of darkness. This increase persisted for periods of darkness as long as 80 min (the longest period tested). The magnitude of this elevation, its time course, and its neutralization by t...

Microfluidic field-effect flow control (FEFC) modifies the zeta potential of electroosmotic flow using a transverse electric field applied through the microchannel wall. Previously demonstrated in silicon-based and glass microsystems, FEFC is presented here as an elegant method for flow control in polymer-based microfluidics with a simple and low-cost fabrication process. In addition to direct ...

This article presents a concept interpretation of patterns for bidirectional associative memory (BAM) and a representation of hierarchical structures of concepts (concept lattices) by BAMs. The constructive representation theorem provides a storing rule for a training set that allows a concept interpretation. Examples demonstrating the theorems are presented.

Most models of Bidirectional associative memories intend to achieve that all trained pattern correspond to stable states; however, this has not been possible. Also, none of the former models has been able to recall all the trained patterns. In this work we introduce a new model of bidirectional associative memory which is not iterative and has no stability problems. It is based on the Alpha-Bet...

This workshop is the third in a series promoting crosscollaboration between computer science disciplines on the topic of bidirectional transformations. The workshop had a 53% acceptance rate from submissions from four di↵erent disciplines. In this brief preface, we outline a definition for what makes a bidirectional transformation, and describe a history of the workshop and its associated meeti...
