We estimate the contribution of inelastic nucleon excitations to the (e, e ′) inclusive cross section in the CEBAF kinematic range. Calculations are based upon parameter-izations of the nucleon structure functions measured at SLAC. Nuclear binding effects are included in a vector-scalar field theory, and are assumed have a minimal effect on the nucleon excitation spectrum. We find that for q < ...

The top quark mass will be determined to high accuracy from the shape of the t ¯ t total production cross section in the threshold region at a future linear e + e − collider. Presently the estimated statistical error in the measurement of m MS t (m MS t) is ∼50 MeV, while the estimated theoretical error is 150–200 MeV. In order to reduce the theoretical uncertainty to below 50 MeV, we have rece...

We present the program Top++ for the numerical evaluation of the total inclusive cross-section for producing top quark pairs at hadron colliders. The program calculates the cross-section in a) fixed order approach with exact next-to-next-to leading order (NNLO) accuracy and b) by including soft-gluon resummation for the hadronic cross-section in Mellin space with full next-to-next-to-leading lo...

We study the dilepton-dijet signal in the dominant Higgs production channel at a linear e+e− collider. We estimate the effects of Universal Extra Dimension (UED) by a simple analysis of the cross-sections. The heavy Kaluza-Klein excitations of the Standard Model fields in UED can significantly alter the decay properties of the Higgs boson to loop-driven final states. We show that by taking a si...

In the energy region below 1 GeV, neutrino-scattering off nuclei is dominated by quasi-elastic processes. Several effects influence the outcome of these reactions, and the result of cross section calculations depends on choices in model and parameterization. We discuss the main sensitivities of quasi-elastic processes and their influence on cross section results.

The nature of the thermodynamic behavior of Type I superconductor particles, having a cross section less than the Ginzburg-Landau temperature dependent coherence length, ξ(T), is discussed for magnetic field induced adiabatic phase transitions from the superconductive state to the normal state. Argument is advanced supporting the view that when the adiabatic magnetocaloric process is applied to...

Details are given of the observation by H1 of events containing high-PT leptons in addition to large missing PT. A closely related ZEUS analysis, including a preliminary measurement of the W production cross section, is discussed and the two experiments are compared. Some possible non-standard model sources for the events are considered.

We extend the non-commutative standard model based on the minimal SU(3)×SU(2)× U(1) gauge group to include the interaction of photon with neutrino. We show that, in the gauge invariant manner, only the right handed neutrino can directly couple to the photon. Consequently, we obtained the Feynman rule for the γνν̄-vertex which is not already existed in the minimal extension of non-commutative sta...

Recently, a conceptually new physics beyond the Standard Model (SM), unparticle, has been proposed, where a hidden conformal sector is coupled to the SM sector through higher dimensional operators. In this setup, we investigate unparticle physics at the photon collider, in particular, unparticle effects on the γγ → γγ process. Since this process occurs at loop level in the SM, the unparticle ef...
