aspergillus spp. are ubiquitous saprophytic fungi that cause a variety of diseases, ranging from hypersensitivity reactions to flulike pneumonia and life-threatening invasive aspergillosis. as the lung is the primary site of initial infection with airborne conidia, we investigated the innate immune responses of bronchial epithelial cells against different forms of aspergillus spp.
This overview presents the framework and the results of the Author Profiling task at PAN 2016. The objective was to predict age and gender from a cross-genre perspective. For this purpose a corpus from Twitter has been provided for training, and different corpora from social media, blogs, essays, and reviews have been provided for evaluation. Altogether, the approaches of 22 participants were e...

A proof-of-concept basic prediction framework able to read the PAN author profiling data and be adaptable to accept multiple classification and training functions. The framework was used to investigate system resource usage and to experiment with data sub-setting techniques to enable efficient creation of the base model and convergence of the training functions.
This paper summarize our approach to author profiling task – a part of evaluation lab PAN’13. We have used ensemble-based classification on large features set. All the features are roughly described and experimental section provides evaluation of different methods and classification approaches.
Why do we age? This question has baffled scientists for 150 years and remains unresolved. Scientists disagree over even the general nature of aging. Is aging the result of fundamental limitations that apply to all living things, do we age because our bodies do not try harder not to age, or are organisms designed by nature or " programmed " to age because a limited life span conveys some evoluti...
This overview presents the framework and the results of the Author Profiling task at PAN 2017. The objective of this year is to address gender and language variety identification. For this purpose a corpus from Twitter has been provided for four different languages: Arabic, English, Portuguese, and Spanish. Altogether, the approaches of 22 participants are evaluated.

Author manuscripts have been peer reviewed and accepted for publication but have not yet been edited. Author manuscripts have been peer reviewed and accepted for publication but have not yet been edited. ABSTRACT Although considerable progress has been made towards understanding glioblastoma biology through large-scale genetic and protein expression analyses, little is known about the underlyin...
Author profiling task aims to identify different traits of an author by analyzing his/her written text. This study presents a Stylometry-based approach for detection of author traits (gender and age) for cross-genre author profiles. In our proposed approach, we used different types of stylistic features including 7 lexical features, 16 syntactic features, 26 character-based features and 6 vocab...
