In the title coordination polymer, [Zn(C(6)H(2)O(5))(C(12)H(8)N(2))](n), an infinite chain is formed along [010] by linking the chelated {Zn(phen)} entities (phen is 1,10-phenanthroline) with two carboxyl-ate groups of the furan-2,5-dicarboxyl-ate ligand. The Zn(II) atom shows trigonal-prismatic coordination.

In the title compound, C(12)H(9)ClN(2)O(4)S, the dihedral angle between the aromatic rings is 73.65 (7)°. The amide H atom shows bifurcated hydrogen bonding, generating an intra-molecular S(7) and an inter-molecular C(4) motif.

The three meth-oxy groups of the title compound, C(16)H(23)BrO(4), are almost coplanar with the attached aromatic ring, forming dihedral angles of 7.19 (13), 2.48 (13) and 7.24 (12)°. The crystal structure shows an intra-molecular and an inter-molecular C-H⋯O inter-action.
