Neutrophil gelatinase-associated lipocalin (NGAL), which is an important prognostic marker for sepsis and inflammatory diseases, is mostly released from neutrophils. Crimean-Congo hemorrhagic fever (CCHF) patients are generally neutropenic. We aimed to investigate whether there is a change in serum NGAL level and to investigate its effect on the recovery time (RT) during the course of CCHF. A t...

Ticks are distributed worldwide and can harbourand transmit a range of pathogenic microorganisms that affect livestock and humans. Most tick-borne diseases are caused by tick-borne viruses. Two major tick-borne virus zoonotic diseases, Kyasanur forest disease (KFD) and Crimean-Congo haemorrhagic fever (CCHF), are notifiable in India and are associated with highmortality rates. KFD virus was fir...

IS Crimean–Congo hemorrhagic fever (CCHF) is an often fatal viral infection described in about 30 countries worldwide. It is transmitted to humans through the bite of an infected tick and via direct contact with blood or tissue from infected humans and livestock. In this article, we report four cases of CCHF disease in men of age 21, 28, 29, and 33 years. Two patients were butchers and two were...

In the summer of June 2011, the first case of Crimean-Congo hemorrhagic fever (CCHF) was observed in Oman since the last fifteen years. The first blood sample using reverse transcriptase polymerase chain reaction (PCR) test were sent looking for CCHF, tick-borne encephalitis, dengue, Japanese encephalitis, Chikungunya and West Nile. All resulted as negative. The repeated serology for CCHF came ...

We conducted a cross-sectional serosurvey of Crimean-Congo hemorrhagic fever (CCHF) among livestock in 22 states and 1 union territory of India. A total of 5,636 samples from bovines, sheep, and goats were screened for CCHF virus IgG. IgG was detected in 354 samples, indicating that this virus is widespread in this country.

Gauge equivalence between the two-dimensional continuous classical Heisenberg ferromagnets(CCHF) of spin 1 2 -the M-I equation with singleside anisotropy and the Zakharov equation(ZE) is established for the easy axis case. The anisotropic CCHF is shown to be gauge equivalent to the isotropic CCHF. Preprint CNLP-1994-05. Alma-Ata.1994 In the study of 1+1 dimensional ferromagnets, a well known La...

The purpose of this study is to determine erythrocyte sedimentation rate (ESR), C - reactive protein (CRP), serum amyloid-A (SAA) and cholesterol levels in patients with Crimean-Congo Hemorrhagic Fever (CCHF) and determine the relationship of these parameters with the severity of disease. By polymerase chain reaction and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA) method 40 patients were diagnose...

BACKGROUND Crimean-Congo Hemorrhagic Fever (CCHF) is a disease characterized by serious course, including acute viral fever, ecchymosis, thrombocytopenia, liver dysfunction and high rate of mortality. Hypoxia Inducible Factor-1α (HIF-1α) and Vascular Endothelial Growth Factor-A (VEGF-A) play an important role both in the inflammatory process and plasma leakage. The aim of this study was to defi...

Adults and nymphs of a soft tick, Ornithodoros sonrai Sautet & Witkowski, were allowed to feed on suckling mice that had been experimentally infected with Crimean-Congo hemorrhagic fever (CCHF) virus (IbAr 10200 strain). The mean viral titer of mouse blood at the time of tick feeding was 10(3.2) plaque-forming units (PFU) per ml. Samples of ticks were assayed on 12 occasions between days 0 and ...
