Objectives: The aim of the current study was to develop and evaluate the validity and reliability of Persianself-report version ofSwanson, Nolan and Pelham rating scale (version IV) (SNAP-IV). Method: The study population consisted of all 13 to 15 year-old female students of Shiraz city. To prepare the Persian self-report form of SNAP-IV rating scale, the English text of the scale (parent form)...

The literature assessing the efficacy of the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP), formerly known as the Food Stamp Program, has long puzzled over positive associations between SNAP receipt and various undesirable health outcomes such as food insecurity. Assessing the causal impacts of SNAP, however, is hampered by two key identification problems: endogenous selection into participa...

The Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program-Education (SNAP-Ed) program aims to improve nutritional intakes of low-income individuals (<185% poverty threshold). The objective of this study was to describe the compliance with Dietary Guidelines for Americans (DGA) recommendations for fruits, vegetables, and whole grains among SNAP-Ed eligible (n = 3142) and ineligible (n = 3168) adult women (1...

At the synapse, SNAP-25, along with syntaxin/HPC-1 and synaptobrevin/VAMP, forms SNARE N-ethylmaleimide-sensitive factor [soluble (NSF) attachment protein receptor] complexes that are thought to catalyze membrane fusion. Results from neuronal cultures of synaptobrevin-2 knockout (KO) mice showed that loss of synaptobrevin has a more severe effect on calcium-evoked release than on spontaneous re...

Adhesive bonding, mechanical fastening, and snap-fit are all ways for attaching plastic components together. Snap-fit is employed to assemble parts because it an efficient, cost-effective, fast joining technique. When comes snap-fits, you have two options: separable inseparable. The term refers the ability of be dismantled successfully without breaking, whereas inseparable being permanently att...

Synapses have a limited pool of vesicles that are docked and primed for rapid release. In neuroendocrine cells, splice variants of the SNARE protein SNAP-25 and phosphorylation of SNAP-25 independently influence the size of the releasable vesicle pool, possibly by altering the rate of vesicle depriming. Pre- and posttranslational modifications of SNAP-25 may therefore affect synaptic strength.

Biomarker definitions for preclinical Alzheimer's disease (AD) have identified individuals with neurodegeneration (ND+) without β-amyloidosis (Aβ-) and labeled them with suspected non-AD pathophysiology (SNAP). We evaluated Apolipoprotein E (APOE) ε2 and ε4 allele frequencies across biomarker definitions-Aβ-/ND- (n = 268), Aβ+/ND- (n = 236), Aβ-/ND+ or SNAP (n = 78), Aβ+/ND+ (n = 204)-hypothesi...

BACKGROUND The melanin-concentrating hormone receptor 1 (MCHR1), which is highly expressed in the lateral hypothalamus, plays a key role in energy homeostasis, obesity and other endocrine diseases. Hence, there is a major interest in in vivo imaging of this receptor. A PET tracer would allow non-invasive in vivo visualization and quantification of the MCHR1. The aim of the study was the ex vivo...

PURPOSE To determine whether retinal neurons become more susceptible to injury by nitric oxide (NO) under hypoxic conditions. METHODS Cells from the RGC-5 line were exposed to different concentrations (0.1-100 microM) of S-nitroso-N-acetyl-penicillamine (SNAP), an NO donor, under normoxic and hypoxic (1.0% O(2)) conditions with 5.5 mM glucose or with no glucose. In some experiments, carboxy-P...
