A new species of Cyrtodactylus is described from the southern Western Ghats India. It distinguished all ­ collegalensis complex in colour pattern and resembles Srilankan endemic C. yakhuna overall colouration. Phylogenetic analysis mitochondrial ND2 DNA sequences indicates that most closely related to differs them by an uncorrected pairwise genetic distance 10.5–12.9%.

Indigofera santapaui Sanjappa is little-known species and reported from very few localities of the north Western Ghats. In present investigation, somatic chromosome number (2n=16) karyotype analysis were for first time in I. santapaui. The formula was observed to be 2n=16=12m+4sm. Karyotype fell 2B asymmetric category Stebbins’ classification.
