We report a semi-analytical model for calculating the coupling effects between the dipolar surface plasmon nanoparticles of a periodic structure. This model involves real-valued frequencies only and is therefore applicable to periodic structures with arbitrary dipolar units and environments.

In this paper, we are interested in the Dirichlet boundary value problem for a multi-dimensional nonlinear conservation law with a multiplicative stochastic perturbation. Using the concept of measure-valued solutions and Kruzhkov’s semi-entropy formulations, a result of existence and uniqueness of the entropy solution is proved. © 2013 Elsevier Inc. We obtain a formula for the modulus of metric regularity of a mapping defined by a semi-infinite system of equalities and inequalities. Based on this formula, we prove a theorem of Eckart-Young type for such set-valued infinite-dimensional mappings: given a metrically regular mapping F of this kind, the infimum of the norm of a linear function g such that F + g is not metrically regular is equa...

We generalize theorems of Deligne-Mumford and de Jong on semistable modifications of families of proper curves. The main result states that after a generically étale alteration of the base any (not necessarily proper) family of multipointed curves with semi-stable generic fiber admits a minimal semi-stable modification. The latter can also be characterized by the property that its geometric fib...

In [1], an integration theory for valued fields was developed with a Grothendieck group approach. Two types of categories were studied. The first was of semi-algebraic sets over a valued field, with all semi-algebraic morphisms. The Grothendieck ring of this category was shown to admit two natural homomorphisms, esssentially into the Grothendieck ring of varieties over the residue field. These ...

In this article, we analyze the propagation of Wigner measures of a family of solutions to a system of semi-classical pseudodifferential equations presenting eigenvalues crossings on hypersurfaces. We prove the propagation along classical trajectories under a geometric condition which is satisfied for example as soon as the Hamiltonian vector fields are transverse or tangent at finite order to ...

This paper deals with a new class of nonlinear set valued implicit variational inclusion problems involving (A, η)-monotone mappings in 2-uniformly smooth Banach spaces. Semi-inner product structure has been used to study the (A, η)-monotonicity. Using the generalized resolvent operator technique and the semi-inner product structure, the approximation solvability of the proposed problem is inve...

This paper addresses the problem of probabilistic reasoning as it applies to Truth Maintenance Systems. A Belief Maintenance System hal! been constructed which manages a current set of probabilistic beliefs in much the same way that a TMS manages a set of true/false beliefs. Such a system may be thought of as a generalization of a. Truth Maintenance System. It enables one to reason using normal...

Bilattices and d-frames are two different kinds of structures with a four-valued interpretation. Whereas d-frames were introduced with their topological semantics in mind, the theory of bilattices has a closer connection with logic. We consider a common generalisation of both structures and show that this not only still has a clear bitopological semantics, but that it also preserves most of the...

This paper looks at logic programming with three kinds of negation: default, weak and strict negations. A 3-valued logic model theory is discussed for logic programs with three kinds of negation. The procedure is constructed for negations so that a soundness of the procedure is guaranteed in terms of 3-valued logic model theory.
