2 We discuss the theoretical basis for the search of the possible experimental manifestations of the torsion field at low energies. First, the quantum field theory in an external gravitational field with torsion is reviewed. The renormalizability requires the nonminimal interaction of tor-sion with spinor and scalar (Higgs) fields. The Pauli-like equation contains new torsion-dependent terms wh...

Aim The aim of the present study was to assess the protective effects of magnesium sulfate (MgSO4) on ischemia/reperfusion (I/R) induced ovarian damage in a rat ovarian torsion model. Methods Forty-two female Sprague Dawley rats were included in the study. They were divided into six groups as Group 1, sham; Group 2, bilateral ovarian torsion; Group 3, bilateral ovarian torsion-detorsion; Grou...

BACKGROUND The usefulness of T2*-weighted (T2*W) imaging for the detection of adnexal torsion has yet to be determined. PURPOSE To assess the usefulness of T2*W imaging for detecting and differentiating adnexal torsion. MATERIAL AND METHODS Eight patients with eight ovaries with torsion and 44 patients with 72 ovaries without torsion were included in this study. All patients underwent 1.5-T...

The forgotten topological index of a molecular graph $G$ is defined as $F(G)=sum_{vin V(G)}d^{3}(v)$, where $d(u)$ denotes the degree of vertex $u$ in $G$. The first through the sixth smallest forgotten indices among all trees, the first through the third smallest forgotten indices among all connected graph with cyclomatic number $gamma=1,2$, the first through<br /...

A torsion theory is called differential (higher differential) if a derivation (higher derivation) can be extended from any module to the module of quotients corresponding to the torsion theory. We study conditions equivalent to higher differentiability of a torsion theory. It is known that the Lambek, Goldie and any perfect torsion theories are differential. We show that these classes of torsio...

the omentum and the stranding continued inferiorly into left inguinal hernia sac (Fig. 2). The diagnosis of omental torsion with hernia was confirmed on laparotomy. Omental torsion usually occurs on the right side because of greater mobility of the right omentum. A left-sided omental torsion is rare and is difficult to diagnose clinically. Torsion may be primary, or secondary to underlying caus...

the eccentricity connectivity index of a molecular graph g is defined as (g) = av(g)deg(a)ε(a), where ε(a) is defined as the length of a maximal path connecting a to othervertices of g and deg(a) is degree of vertex a. here, we compute this topological index forsome infinite classes of dendrimer graphs.

Purpose: Hamstring muscle is a two-jointed muscle, which is attached to the pelvis at one end and to tibia at the other. Contractures of the hamstring muscles affect the position of proximal and distal joints. The present study aims to compare the value of quadriceps angle (‘Q angle’) and tibial torsion among Premier League Futsal players with and without hamstring tightness. ...

A language is torsion (resp. bounded torsion, aperiodic, bounded aperiodic) if its syntactic monoid is torsion (resp. bounded torsion, aperiodic, bounded aperiodic). We generalize the regular language theorems of Kleene, Sch utzenberger and Straubing to describe the classes of torsion, bounded torsion, aperiodic and bounded aperiodic languages. These descriptions involve taking limits of sequen...

We express the Burghelea-Haller complex Ray-Singer torsion in terms of the square of the refined analytic torsion and the η-invariant. As an application we obtain new results about the Burghelea-Haller torsion. In particular, we prove a weak version of the Burghelea-Haller conjecture relating their torsion with the square of the Turaev combinatorial torsion.
