Some Copper(II)-Manganese(II) trinuclear complexes of Schiff bases derived from 2aminobenzaldehyde and diamines are reported and characterized based on their elemental analyses, conductivity studies, IR, UV-Visible, ESR spectroscopy and cyclic voltammetric studies. The complexes are found to have the formula [Mn(CuL)2](CH3COO)2. The elemental analyses data confirms the formation of trinuclear c...
In this paper, an efficient method for synthesis of aromatic polyesters containing schiff base units is described by preparation of two polyesters. These polyesters have been prepared by the reaction of terephthaloyl dichloride on Schiff bases derived from p-hydroxybenzyldehyde and 4,4-diamino diphenyl ether, 4,4-diamino diphenyl methane. The Polymers were characterized by IR, CHNS, thermal...
A novel azo-Schiff base ligand (L) was prepared by reacting 2-hydroxy-5-(pyridine-4-yldiazenyl) benzaldehyde with 1,2-phenylenediamine. Moreover, Silver nanoparticles (Ag-NPs) and Cadmium sulfide nanoparticles (CdS-NPs) were prepared by employing azo-Schiff base ligand (L) as capping and reducing agent. The solid-state fluorescence spectroscopy was used to investigate the interaction between L ...
Schiff base complexes of transition metals are of particular interest to inorganic chemists because of their structural, spectral and chemical properties, which are often strongly dependant on the nature of the ligand structure. Large number of metal (II) complexes with Schiff-base ligands has been extensively studied for their interesting structural specialties, applications and properties. Th...
The copper-catalyzed [3+2] azide-alkyne cycloaddition and the Staudinger ligation are readily applicable and highly efficient for the immobilization of cobalt Schiff base complexes onto polystyrene resins. Stepwise synthesis of polymer-bound Schiff bases followed by their subsequent complexation with metal ions were successfully carried out. Direct covalent attachment of preformed homogeneous c...
In the title compound, [CuBr(C(17)H(20)N(4))]BF(4), the Cu(II) ion is five-coordinated by the four N atoms of the tetra-dentate Schiff base ligand and by one bromide ion, thereby forming a square-pyramidal CuN(4)Br coordination geometry. The dihedral angle between the pyridine rings of the Schiff base is 54.39 (18)°. In the crystal, the components are linked by C-H⋯F inter-actions.
In the title complex, [CuSm(C(19)H(20)N(2)O(4))(NO(3))(3)]·CH(3)CO-CH(3), the Cu(II) atom is four-coordinated in a square-planar geometry by two O atoms and two N atoms of the deprotonated Schiff base. The Sm(III) atom is ten-coordinate, chelated by three nitrate groups and linked to the four O atoms of the deprotonated Schiff base.
In the title compound, [CuZnCl(2)(C(19)H(20)N(2)O(4))], the Cu(II) ion exhibits a slightly distorted square-planar coordination geometry defined by two N atoms and two O atoms of the 6,6'-dimeth-oxy-2,2'-[propane-1,3-diylbis(nitrilo-methyl-idyne)]diphenolate Schiff base ligand. The Zn(II) ion is also four-coordinated by the two phenolate O atoms of the Schiff base ligand and by two cis-coordina...
The structure of the title complex, [ZnCl(2)(C(12)H(18)N(2)O(2))], contains a zwitterionic Schiff base ligand. The complex adopts a distorted tetra-hedral coordination geometry around the metal centre with the Schiff base ligand coordinated in a bidentate fashion via the imine N and phenolate O atoms. In the crystal, inter-molecular N-H⋯O and C-H⋯Cl hydrogen bonds link the mol-ecules into chain...
In the title compound, C(15)H(13)N(3)O(4)·CH(3)OH, the dihedral angle between the two substituted benzene rings is 66.7 (2)°. An intra-molecular O-H⋯N hydrogen bond is observed in the Schiff base mol-ecule. In the crystal structure, the Schiff base and solvent mol-ecules are linked into chains running along the a axis by inter-molecular O-H⋯O and N-H⋯O hydrogen bonds.
