The measurement of the strength of atmospheric optical turbulence by use of a modified generalized SCIDAR (scintillation detection and ranging) inversion technique is outlined and demonstrated. This new method for normalizing and inverting scintillation covariances incorporates the geometry specific to generalized SCIDAR.
