We examined the effects of a variety of amendments on the consumption of [U-C]dimethyl sulfide in a Georgia salt marsh. Methylated compounds, particularly those with dimethyl groups, significantly inhibited dimethyl sulfide consumption, while nonmethylated substrates had little effect.
