The importance of language in the changing usage of particular environments is a topic worthy of greater attention than hitherto. Fraser Island has passed through a period of intense political conflict to one in which it is dominated by the new discourse of ecotourism. It is now part of that global development in which it is claimed that tourists can become properly informed about, and become p...
The aim of this experiment was to determine CH4 production and energy partition for a range of diets fed to Bos indicus cattle. Six Brahman cattle were fed on three different diets in a replicated Latin square experiment over three periods. The diets were (1) long-chopped Angleton grass (Dicanthium aristatum) hay ad libitum (DM digestibility (DMD) 41 (SE 2)%; 4 g N/kg), (2) long-chopped Rhodes ...

We prove that the pseudovariety of monoids of Krohn-Rhodes complexity at most n is not finitely based for all n > 0. More specifically, for each pair of positive integers n, k, we construct a monoid of complexity n+1, all of whose k-generated submonoids have complexity at most n. A monoid M is an extension of a submonoid T by a group G if there is a morphism from M onto G such that T is the inverse image of the identity of G. Our first main theorem gives descriptions of such extensions in terms of groups acting on categories. The theory developed is also used to obtain a second main theorem which answers the following question. Given a monoid M and a submonoid T , under...
