This paper presents a methodology for finding the n most similar documents across multiple text databases for any given query and for any positive integer n. This methodology consists of two steps. First, the contents of databases are indicated approximately by database representatives. Databases are ranked using their representatives with respect to the given query. We provide a necessary and ...

The importance of genome redundancy has been strongly emphasized in the field of genome dynamics and evolution as well as in medical biology. A repeat is a sequence present twice or more with a high degree of similarity within a larger sequence (e.g. a chromosome) or set of sequences (e.g. a genome with several chromosomes). Each instance of the repeated sub-sequence is called a ’copy’ of the r...

O ften, when removing a tooth, a dentist hears a familiar cracking sound. He or she hopes that it is just the alveolar bone. However, after removing the tooth, sometimes the dentist discovers that there is a root tip left in place. This is a tricky and potentially dangerous situation. The root tip can be pushed into the sinus, the mandibular nerve canal or the buccal mucosa. This would cause th...

The use of supervised neural networks for the estimation of seismic source parameters from SAR interferometric data is presented in this paper. The RNGCHN software allowed the generation of the input-output pairs necessary for the learning phase of the net. After being trained, the net has been tested on real measured data. The obtained results encourage future developments of such an approach.

Soil roughness is a very important parameter affecting radar backscattering coefficient. This paper wants to introduce a new method to retrieve the combined roughness parameter 2 / Zs s l = on the condition of rough surface. To achieve this goal, two experiments are conducted: (1) Advanced Integral Equation Model (AIEM) is used to simulate backscattering coefficients; and (2) a new algorithm to...

In this paper, we present a method to accelerate the speed of querying and retrieving images in database. First we change the storing method: pixels of an image are saved in Hilbert order instead of Row-wise order using in traditional method. Then after studying the property of Hilbert curve, we give a new algorithm which greatly reduce the data segment number on the disk. Although we have to r...

Many Proper Names (PNs) are Out-Of-Vocabulary (OOV) words for speech recognition systems used to process diachronic audio data. To help recovery of the PNs missed by the system, relevant OOV PNs can be retrieved out of the many OOVs by exploiting semantic context of the spoken content. In this paper, we propose two neural network models targeted to retrieve OOV PNs relevant to an audio document...

In this paper, we argue the possibility of retrieving the vocal tract dynamics from speech as was produced by a given speaker. First, we present an inversion method that provides a complete set of articulatory solutions without excessive constraints. The selection of articulatory trajectories is not an easy task, as many trajectories are possible. Based on some inversion experiments and data ob...

Cloud computing is an efficient data sharing technique where users can directly store and access information through internet. Hence the chances of unauthorized access and security of data is an important issue in cloud computing, hence various techniques are implemented for the security of cloud data. Encryption is a technique of providing a secure access of data over internet, but chances of ...

A numerical, tribological data collection system with 15,000 data records was developed to find materials for tribological operations. The database enables the user to search, retrieve and display information and data about the appropriate material couples in a fast and convenient way. The database is intended to be used by researchers, engineers, consultants and developers. All tribological ch...
