This study presents a stratified sampling plan for estimating accuracy of billing performance for the claims submitted to third party payers in healthcare systems. The population consists of hospital claims with amounts ranging from zero, hundreds, thousands, to rare high million dollars. Accuracy of the billing process is estimated by auditing a sample of claims with two measurements: the over...

Digital repetitive control is a technique which allows to track periodic references and/or reject periodic disturbances. Repetitive controllers are usually designed assuming a fixed frequency for the signals to be tracked/rejected, its main drawback being a dramatic performance decay when this frequency varies. A usual approach to overcome the problem consists of an adaptive change of the sampl...

Introduction. The perceived information needs of teachers who specialize in reading instruction for at-risk first graders were studied and related to frameworks for the role of social context in information needs, seeking and use. The frameworks considered were: disciplinarity, role theory in work settings, small worlds and information grounds and communities of practice. Method. Two focus grou...

Recent research advocates applying sampling to accelerate microarchitecture simulation. Simple random sampling offers accurate performance estimates (with a high quantifiable confidence) by taking a large number (e.g., 10,000) of short performance measurements over the full length of a benchmark. Simple random sampling does not exploit the often repetitive behaviors of benchmarks, collecting ma...

In this paper introduce the average outgoing quality (AOQ) and average total inspect (ATI) for single sampling plan when that proportion nonconforming items is fuzzy number. We have shown that AOQ and ATI curves of the plan are like a band having a high and low bounds. Keywords—Statistical quality control, acceptance single sampling, average outgoing quality, average total inspection, fuzzy num...

The purpose of this paper is to present the Quality Interval acceptance single sampling plan when the fraction of nonconforming items is a fuzzy number and being modeled based on the fuzzy Poisson distribution. A new procedure for implementing Fuzzy logic in Quality Interval acceptance sampling plan has also been carried out.
