An unprecedented direct reductive amination of electron-deficient amines such as Cbz-, Boc-, EtOCO-, Fmoc-, Bz-, ArSO(2)-, Ar(2)PO-, etc. protected amines with aldehydes is achieved using the Re(2)O(7) catalyst and silanes as the hydride source. Excellent regioselective mono-alkylation and chemoselective reductive-amination were observed.
We show that every admissible representation of a real reductive group has a canonical system of Sobolev norms parametrized by positive characters of a minimal parabolic subgroup. We give a classification of the triples (g, g′, q) such that Zuckerman’s derived functor (g,K)-module Aq(λ) for a θ-stable parabolic subalgebra q is discretely decomposable with respect to a reductive symmetric pair (g, g′). The proof is based on the criterion for discretely decomposable restrictions by the first author and on Berger’s classification of reductive symmetric pairs.
We study the geometry of algebraic monoids. We prove that the group of invertible elements of an irreducible algebraic monoid is an algebraic group, open in the monoid. Moreover, if this group is reductive, then the monoid is affine. We then give a combinatorial classification of reductive monoids by means of the theory of spherical varieties.
In this paper, we extend the work in Morita’s Theory for the Symplectic Groups [7] to split reductive groups. We construct and study the holomorphic discrete series representation and the principal series representation of a split reductive group G over a p-adic field F as well as a duality between certain sub-representations of these two representations.
StereoElectronic Control of Unidirectional Reductive Elimination (SECURE) is provided by the cyclophane substituent on iodine(III). Computational and experimental studies demonstrate that out of plane steric bulk strongly destabilizes the reductive elimination transition state, and leads to regiochemical control. We prove an explicit formula for the invariant μ(g) for finite-dimensional semisimple, and reductive Lie algebras g over C. Here μ(g) is the minimal dimension of a faithful linear representation of g. The result can be used to study Dynkin’s classification of maximal reductive subalgebras of semisimple Lie algebras.
