Permanent magnet linear synchronous motor (PMLSM), which has the advantages of simple structure, small volume, high force, is a research focus and difficulties because of the thrust ripple and control problems for PMLSM. In this paper, in order to reduce thrust ripple and improve system control performance, the space voltage vector pulse width modulation technology (SVPWM) was introduced into t...

Variable pulse position modulation (VPPM) is a new modulation scheme that supports simultaneously illumination with dimming control and communication. In this paper, the transmitter, optical wireless channel, and receiver structure of VPPM were modeled mathematically, and their error performance for examining the communication performance according to dimming level and data rate was analyzed. T...

In this paper, the conduction losses of power MOSFET’s are calculated analytically for application in three-phase voltage dc-link pulsewidth modulation (PWM) converter systems. Contrary to a conventional calculation, the dependency of the turn-on behavior on the drain current is considered in terms of a quadratic approximation. The derived relationships are represented graphically; they can be ...

In this paper, a harmonic elimination and suppression scheme for a dual-inverter-fed open-end winding induction motor drive is presented. Two isolated dc-link sources with voltage ratio of approximately 1 : 0.366 are required for the present drive. These two isolated dc links feeding two inverters to drive the openend winding induction motor eliminate the triplen harmonic currents from the moto...

This paper comprehensively analyzes the relationship between space-vector modulation and three-phase carrier-based pulsewidth modualtion (PWM). The relationships involved, such as the relationship between modulation signals (including zero-sequence component and fundamental components) and space vectors, the relationship between the modulation signals and the space-vector sectors, the relations...

This work focuses on the construction of optimized binary signaling schemes for two-sender uncoded transmission of correlated sources over non-orthogonal Gaussian multiple access channels. Specifically, signal constellations with binary pulse-amplitude-modulation are designed for two senders to optimize the overall system performance. Although the two senders transmit their own messages indepen...

The paper deals with a technique which uses the predictive concepts in order to obtain the pulse width modulation strategy of a voltage fed inverter. After the technique is briefly described, it is applied for the case when the inverter supplies an induction motor, the reference values of the currents being obtained from a classical vector control scheme. The described technique is then simulat...

In this paper, a new six-phase pole-changing induction motor drive is proposed to extend the constant-power operating range for electric vehicle application. The double Fourier series is newly employed to analyze the spectra of the motor phase voltage and current. Consequently, the harmonic expression of the inverter dc-link current can be derived. In order to reduce the dc-link harmonics, a ne...

The paper presents a drive system consists of single-phase boost rectifier, space vector pulse width modulation (SVPWM) inverter, and three-phase induction motor. The single-phase boost rectifier is used to obtain near unity power factor and to reduce the harmonic distortion in the main supply. The SVPWM inverter is used to offer 15% increase in the output voltage and low output harmonic distor...

Keep things simple when controlling bidirectional pulsewidth modulation rectifiers by considering the utility grid as a virtual electric machine. The advantage is that the air-gap flux of this big machine can be directly measured in a straightforward way. Therefore, as shown in this paper, principles of field orientation can be applied to control the power flow, yielding high-dynamic performance.
