Aspect-Oriented Programming (AOP) can effectively solve the code-tangling and code-scattering which are caused by crosscutting attributes, However, much work is presented on programming implementation phase, few works have addressed early model stages. In this paper, we do research requirements engineering phase of software using AOP technology. First in analysis identified functional non-funct...

My guess is that object-oriented programming will be in the 1980s what structured programming was in the 1970s. Everyone will be in favor of it. Every manufacturer will promote his products as supporting it. Every manager will pay lip service to it. Every programmer will practice it (differently). And no one will know just what it is. Tim Rentsch in [Ren82] In this chapter we explore essential ...

This paper describes a new aspect language construct for Squeak, named FACETS. Aspects are completely integrated within the Squeak programming language and its environment. The innovations of FACETS are: (i) traits can be part of the pointcut definition, (ii) two scoping policies are available to share state among aspects and (iii) aspects are prototype-based.

A good programming language alone is not sufficient for economic software production. The programming environment has a significant influence on the productivity of software engineers. Providing a programmer with information about an object-oriented software system requires extracting information from the source code, e.g., class, method, and variable names. We use separate structure files for ...

Developers who create multi-threaded programs must pay attention to ensuring safe implementations that avoid problems and prevent introduction of a system in an inconsistent state. To achieve this objective programming languages offer more and more support for the programmer by syntactic structures and standard libraries. Despite these enhancements, multi-threaded programming is still generally...

Parallel programming still demands for higher-level languages, models, and tools that do not incur in performance penalties. The # programming model aims to meet those claims in large-scale programs. This paper describes how the # programming model works with procedural languages by using techniques from AOP (Aspect Oriented Programming). Performance comparisons with MPI are presented.

As with to other agile methods, which value "Individuals and interactions over processes and tools" (http://agilemanifesto.org/), Extreme Programming (XP) cares about the interaction among the people involved in software development processes. The four XP values and its twelve practices inspire this feeling as well. Accordingly, and not surprisingly, in a course that we teach about human aspect...

We study issues that arise in programming with primitive recursion over non-free datatypes such as lists, bags and sets. Programs written in this style can lack a meaning in the sense that their outputs may be sensitive to the choice of input expression. We are, thus, naturally led to a set-theoretic denotational semantics with partial functions. We set up a logic for reasoning about the define...
