Posterior reversible encephalopathy syndrome is a clinicoradiologic entity that may present with headaches, altered mental status, seizures and visual loss as well as specific neuroimaging findings. We report a case of a 74-year-old woman receiving adjuvant gemcitabine chemotherapy as monotherapy for a stage IIa pancreatic adenocarcinoma, who developed posterior reversible encephalopathy syndrome.

Posterior reversible encephalopathy syndrome is a clinicoradiologic entity associated with diverse medical conditions. It is very important to properly recognize this condition because early diagnosis and treatment usually result in its complete resolution, whereas a delay in giving an adequate therapy may lead to permanent neurologic sequelae. A case of posterior reversible encephalopathy synd...

Patent retrieval is generally considered to be a recall-oriented information retrieval task that is growing in importance. Despite this fact, precision based scores such as mean average precision (MAP) remain the primary evaluation measures for patent retrieval. Our study examines different evaluation measures for the recall-oriented patent retrieval task and shows the limitations of the curren...

BACKGROUND Posterior reversible encephalopathy syndrome is a neurotoxic condition that occurs as a result of the failure of posterior circulatory autoregulation in response to acute changes in blood pressure. Overperfusion with resultant disruption of the blood-brain barrier results in vasogenic edema, but not infarction. Posterior reversible encephalopathy syndrome can be the presenting featur...

The reversible cerebral vasoconstriction syndrome (RCVS) is well characterized as a group of conditions typically heralded by severe thunderclap headaches (TCH) associated with reversible segmental multifocal cerebral artery vasoconstriction. Approximately one third to half develop intracerebral hemorrhage (ICH), convexal subarachnoid hemorrhage (cSAH), ischemic stroke, and reversible brain ede...

INTRODUCTION Posterior reversible encephalopathy syndrome is a clinico-neuroradiological entity characterized by headache, vomiting, altered mental status, blurred vision and seizures with neuroimaging studies demonstrating white-gray matter edema involving predominantly the posterior region of the brain. CASE PRESENTATION We report a 47-year-old Caucasian man with liver cirrhosis who develop...

Reversible cerebral vasoconstriction syndrome (RCVS) is a group of syndromes characterized by reversible segmental constriction of cerebral arteries. Posterior reversible encephalopathy syndrome (PRES) is another clinical-radiologic syndrome characterized by reversible, posterior-predominant brain edema. Although the exact causes of these reversible syndromes are poorly understood, these entiti...

BACKGROUND AND PURPOSE Posterior reversible encephalopathy syndrome is a clinicoradiologic syndrome. Literature regarding associated factors and the prognostic significance of contrast enhancement in posterior reversible encephalopathy syndrome is sparse. This study set out to evaluate an association between the presence of enhancement in posterior reversible encephalopathy syndrome and various...
