The 109.1-nm transition in neutral Cs is the prototype of a class of transitions that originate from doubly excited quasi-metastable quartet levels. In this Letter we describe experiments that use tunable VUV radiation to determine the identity of this transition, to measure its oscillator strength, and to estimate its hyperfine splitting.

Variational weak-coupling perturbation theory yields converging approximations, uniformly in the coupling strength. This allows us to calculate directly the coefficients of strong-coupling expansions. For the anharmonic oscillator we explain the physical origin of the empirically observed convergence behavior which is exponentially fast with superimposed oscillations.

Two-dimensional electronic spectroscopy of Light Harvesting Complex 4 from photosynthetic bacteria reveals excited state dynamics on two timescales and resolves exciton states with little to no oscillator strength. The results suggest a molecular structure in which the pigment dipole organization within the circular complex has more tangential than radial character.

The femtosecond inter-Landau-level dynamics of a two-dimensional electron gas in a large magnetic field is investigated by degenerate four-wave mixing on modulation doped quantum wells. We observe a large transfer of oscillator strength to the lowest Landau level, and unusual dynamics due to Coulomb correlation. We interpret the effects using a model based on shakeup of the electron gas.

An analysis of the homodyne tomography process that is often used to determine Wigner functions quantum optical states performed consider effects spatiotemporal degrees freedom. The removes those parts input state are not associated with mode local oscillator by tracing out Using a functional approach incorporate all freedom, we find this reduction in freedom introduces distortions observed fun...

Under reducing conditions, single crystal of LiYF4 doped with 762 ppm of u3+ were obtained. Absorption andfluorescence spectra of this system are presented as well as the energy level scheme of the lasing 4 4 transition. Oscillator strength and laser cross section between Stark levels of the + 19,2 transition are calculated.

A convergent perturbation method using modified Lang Firsov transformation is developed for a two-site single-polaron system. The method is applicable for the entire range of the electron-phonon coupling strength from the antiadiabatic limit to the intermediate region of hopping. The single-electron energies, oscillator wave functions and correlation functions, calculated using this method, are...

We elaborate the idea that matrix gauge theories provide a natural framework to describe identical particles. After demonstrating the general prescription, we study an exactly solvable harmonic oscillator type gauged matrix model. We show the model gives a generalization of the Sutherland system where the strength of the inverse square potential is not fixed but dynamical bounded by below. ∗Ele...

We report the phenomenon of anomalous phase synchronization in interacting oscillator systems with randomly distributed parameters. We show that coupling is first able to enlarge the frequency disorder leading to maximal decoherence for intermediate levels of coupling strength before reaching synchronization. Anomalous synchronization arises when the natural frequency covaries with nonisochroni...

In this work, time domain analysis is used to solve Adler’s equation in order to obtain the required time, for an oscillator under external injection, reaching the steady-state condition. Mathematical approach has been applied to fully describe the transient of frequency acquisition in injection-locked LC and Ring oscillators considering their time-varying nature. Then, the analysis is verifie...
