North-East India is inhabited by many indigenous tribes and as a part of their socio-cultural life most of these tribes prepare their own local brew, mostly using rice grains as the substrate. In addition each of the tribes also prepares their own unique starter cultures to carry out fermentation, and each type is a mixture of different parts of various plant species. These starter cultures in ...

Worldwide, coral reefs are challenged by multiple stressors due to growing urbanization, industrialization and coastal development. Coral reefs along the Thousand Islands off Jakarta, one of the largest megacities worldwide, have degraded dramatically over recent decades. The shift and decline in coral cover and composition has been extensively studied with a focus on large-scale gradients (i.e...

We introduce some techniques to investigate dynamical mass generation. The Gross-Neveu model [1] (GN) is used as a toy model, because the GN mass gap is exactly known [2], making it possible to check reliability of the various methods. Very accurate results are obtained. Also application to SU(N) Yang-Mills (YM) is discussed.

This paper examines the relationship between input-output linkages and industry agglomeration by combining the strength of spatial econometrics and the input-output model. This paper uses the location quotient as a measure of industrial agglomeration and regresses it on the intermediate demand variable, which is an important variable in the integrated econometric and input-output models. The na...

Coral bleaching events have been predicted to occur more frequently in the coming decades with global warming. The susceptibility of corals to bleaching during thermal stress episodes is dependent on many factors and an understanding of these underlying drivers is crucial for conservation management. In 2013, a mild bleaching episode ensued in response to elevated sea temperature on the sedimen...

Let F[x] be the space of polynomials in d variables, let GN be the Grassmannian of N -dimensional subspaces of F[x] and let JN stand for the family of all ideals in F[x] of codimension N . For a given G ∈ GN we let JG := {J ∈ JN : J ∩G = {0}} Is it true, that (with appropriate topology on JN ) the set JG is dense in JN? In general the answer is ”No”. What is even more surprising, that there are...

The present paper examines the microfoundations of how households form subjective expectations about the macroeconomy. In particular, we are interested in the role of perceived news. The paper outlines a theoretical model where households may give unequal importance (or weights) to „good‟ and „bad‟ news. We also consider whether the relationship is state-varying and has any structural changes. ...
