A proper antenna to couple to a microstrip Microwave Kinetic Inductance Detector (MKID) is designed and simulated. A twin-slot microstrip-fed inline antenna is designed for frequency band of 600-720~GHz integrated with an elliptical lens and coupled to the MKID. A systematic design procedure for design of such antenna with microstrip inline feeding is presented. Whole structure of lens and twin...

A novel design of multiband microstrip antenna array with dumbbell shape defected ground structure (DGS) is presented. The DGS is inserted into the ground plane between the two elements of the antenna array in order to suppress mutual coupling. Both simulation and measurement results verified that the DGS improved the radiation properties of the antenna array. Measurement results of the DGS ant...

FLASH images obtained with the antenna, Fig.2B shows images received with the two channels separately. D is a coronal FLASH image obtained with an elliptical 16-channel T/R microstrip array. Figure 1: Antenna (A) and the tuning/matching circuit (B) of one channel. Fig.1C shows the driving voltage (black) necessary to scale the B1+ field to a reference value when the antenna is placed at various...

This paper discusses a new method to couple into theTM mode of a microstrip circular-disk resonator. This method can achieve reasonably strong input coupling, which is useful for narrow-band filters with fractional bandwidths of approximately 0.5% and above. A comparison between this newly proposed input coupling structure and the conventional gap input coupling structure will be addressed. A d...

A novel elliptical patch resonator for a compact bandpass filter with tunable bandwidth is presented. This bandpass filter has the advantage of great flexibility in which the center frequency can be changed easily. The bandwidth of this filter can be modified by simply changing one variable, and this makes the proposed design unique. The order of the elliptical patch resonator can be increased,...

A micro strip-fed printed bow-tie antenna is presented inorder to achieve wide bandwidth, high gain, and size reduction. A comparisonbetween the bow-tie and the quasi-Yagi (dipole and director)antennas shows that the bow-tie antenna has a wider bandwidth, highergain, lower front-to-back ratio, lower crosspolarization level, andsmaller size. Two-element arrays are designed and their characterist...

A small triple-band 2.7 GHz, 3.2 GHz and 5.3 GHz compact microstrip patch antenna with two Ushaped slots and a small ground plane is presented. It has been developed to be used in future WiMAX technology. The required bandwidths are fulfilled the WiMAX technology 4.8 %, 3 % and 2.5 % respectively. The return loss for the triple band are -18.5 dB, -14.5 dB and -19 respectively.
