the cities are home to half of the people who live on the planet earth. they stimulate economic growth and cultural prosperity, but they are also the center of pollution and poverty. therefore, the livability of cities, in particular urban distressed areas, has always been one of the issues and challenges facing thinkers in different fields of urban management. however, the planning to improve ...

In this paper we propose a motion based approach for synthesizing dynamic textures. Dynamic textures are natural phenomenon characterized by their distinctive motion patterns. Synthesis of these textures is thus considered as the regeneration of a motion pattern that has identical motion distribution of a source texture. In this paper we propose a synthesis technique where new textures are gene...

The objective of the present paper is to obtain an accurate classification of the textures, which did not introduce undesired merging and to develop a quick, effective and novel algorithm that should be easy to understand and implement. For this the present study advocates a new statistical method based on edge direction movement for classification of textures on the opening of the image. An ed...

Compared to 2D textures, solid textures can represent not only the bounding surfaces, but also their interiors. Existing solid texture synthesis methods pay little attention to the generation of conforming textures that capture geometric structures or reflect the artists’ design intentions. In this paper, we propose a novel approach to synthesizing solid textures using 2D exemplars. The generat...

Texture may provide important clues for real world object and scene perception. To be reliable, these clues should ideally be invariant to common viewing variations such as changes in illumination and orientation. In a large image database of natural materials, we found textures with low-level contrast statistics that varied substantially under viewing variations, as well as textures that remai...

We have developed a new method for transforming images with per-pixel displacements into textures that have correct parallax when texture-mapped, in the usual way, onto polygons. Our new method results from factoring the 3-D image-warping equations of McMillan and Bishop into a prewarp followed by standard texture mapping. The pre-warp handles only the parallax effects resulting from the direct...

We present a novel multi-view, projective texture mapping technique. While previous multi-view texturing approaches lead to blurring and ghosting artefacts if 3D geometry and/or camera calibration are imprecise, we propose a texturing algorithm that warps (“floats”) projected textures during run-time to preserve crisp, detailed texture appearance. Our GPU implementation achieves interactive to ...

To material scientists the term texture means the crystallographic orientation of grains in a polycrystal. In contrast, geologists use the term more generally to refer to the spatial arrangement or association of mineral grains in a rock. In this contribution we are concerned with the materials science definition. There are several established techniques available for the determination of cryst...

This paper introduces an implicit representation of the u;v texture mapping. Instead of using the traditional explicit u;v mapping coordinates, a non-distorted piecewise embedding of the triangular mesh is created, on which the original texture is remapped, yielding warped textures. This creates an effective atlas of the mapped triangles and provides a compact encoding of the texture mapping.

Abstract Glass as an alternative printed circuit board material and interposer has been investigated for use in the micro-electronics industry. Electroless copper plating is used to provide conductive layer, but there limited understanding of how surface topography glass substrate affects copper/glass bonding strength exhibited current literature. A laser ablation technique was prepare surfaces...
