Self-assembled vertical nanostructures take advantage of high interface-to-volume ratio and can be used to design new functionalities by the choice of a proper combination of constituents. However, most of the studies to date have emphasized the functional controllability of the nanostructures using external electric or magnetic fields. In this study, to introduce light (or photons) as an exter...
Abstract Soft magnetic materials are key for the cores used in motors and generators. To improve energy efficiency of cores, it is important to understand mechanism loss under oscillating fields. Here, we clarify nanocrystalline soft (NSMMs), which candidates energy-efficient cores. investigate an NSMM, necessary consider interaction between magnetization crystal lattice, i.e., magnetostriction...
Giant magnetostriction in insulating magnetic materials is highly required for applications but rarely observed. Here we show that giant (> 1500 ppm) can be achieved an transition metal oxide CaBaCo4O7 where the ferrimagnetic ordering at TC ~ 62 K associated with a huge change lattice. Moreover, because this material pyroelectric non-switchable electric polarization (P), results record-breaking...
This paper focuses on modeling of a coupled magnetoelastic problem. The model for magnetostriction is developed for isotropic ferromagnetic materials commonly used in electrical machines. The constitutive equations of the model are written on the basis of the Helmholtz free energy in which the strain tensor and the magnetic flux density vector are chosen as the basic variables. Numerical soluti...

Magnetisation and magnetostriction measurements have been performed on the ferrimagnetic ErxY1-,Fez (z = 1.0, 0.8, 0.6 and 0.4) compounds. All investigated compounds have a compensation point in the temperature range between 100 K and 500 K. The strength of the Er-Fe interaction has been estimated to be equal to 138 T/pB, equivalent to a value for the R-Fe coupling parameter of about 7.8 K.
We derive the complete set of macroscopic dynamic equations for ferrogels under an external magnetic field, including the magnetization as an independent dynamic degree of freedom. The magnetoelasticity comes in the form of magnetostriction and through the magnetic part of the Maxwell stress. Various dynamic couplings of the elastic degree of freedom with the magnetization and the magnetic fiel...
We present high-resolution measurements of the c(*)-axis thermal expansion and magnetostriction of piperidinium copper bromide (C5H12N)2CuBr4. The experimental data at low temperatures are well accounted for by a two-leg spin-ladder Hamiltonian. The thermal expansion shows a complex behavior with various sign changes and approaches a 1/square root T divergence at the critical fields. All low-te...
The Landau-Lifshitz-Gilbert Equation describes the dynamics of ferromagnetism, where strong nonlinearity and non-convexity are hard to tackle. Based on the work of S.Bartels and A.Prohl "Convergence of an implicit finite element method for the Landau-Lifshitz-Gilbert equation" ([4]), we present in this report a fully implicit finite element scheme with exchange and magnetostriction. We verify u...
