Abstract Cancer prevention and treatment are currently the focus of most research. Dose verification is an important step for reducing improper dose deposition during radiotherapy. To mend traditional gel dosimeters 3D verification, a novel rare-earth nanoparticle-based composite was prepared, which has good radioluminescence property reusability. It promising phantom material new dosimeter. TE...
A new cationic Ir(III) complex based on a dendritic ancillary ligand has been designed and synthesized, which simultaneously exhibits piezochromic luminescent (PCL) behavior and aggregation-induced emission (AIE) property for the first time.
The optical response, binding parameters, and duplex DNA binding mode of water-soluble kinetically inert tetranuclear metallomacrocycles can all be controlled by judicious selection of ancillary ligands.
An active one-dimensional Fibonacci photonic quasi-crystal is realized via spin coating. Luminescence properties of an organic dye embedded in the quasi-crystal are studied experimentally and compared to theoretical simulations. The luminescence occurs via the pseudo-bandedge mode and follows the dispersion properties of the Fibonacci crystal. Time resolved luminescence measurement of the activ...
Background & Objectives: Computed tomography (CT) represents 11% of all diagnostic radiology procedures but it contributes to almost 67% of the total effective dose to the human population. In head and neck CT which consist of 1/3 of total CT scans, other critical organs such as lenses and thyroid are in the radiation field. Also in the abdomen and pelvis scan, irradiation of ovaries is unavoid...
Luminescent carbon-based materials have been prepared by electrostatic self-assembly of negatively-charged luminescent Eu(III)-complex with imidazolium-functionalized MWCNTs.
Spectrophotometry has been the conventional technique for measuring optical density of irradiated gels [1]. Later, magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) was found to be capable of imaging radiation dose patterns in 3D [2]. Optical methods are still under investigation in the form of optical tomography [3– 6]. They promise to give three dimensional dose distributions without the cost attached to MRI....

We report two prototype Ln(3+) complexes that address requirements for both MRI and luminescence imaging and we demonstrate that the presence of two H(2)O molecules bound to the Ln(3+), beneficial for MRI applications of the Gd(3+) analogue, is not a major limitation for the development of NIR luminescent agents.
