Many studies have been carned out concermng parametnc programming of the objective function coefficients and also the parametnc programming of the constant terms of the constraints has been extensively studied However, many authors state that parametnc programming of éléments of the matrix coefficients is simple and useful only when the coefficients that vary correspond to nonbasic vee tors, an...

The classical Taguchi quality model only considers the control of quality. Huang[9] proposed a model that took both quality and cost into account. Huang’s model presents a trade-off problem between quality and cost, in which higher quality is not the final aim but the profit. In Huang’s model, the symmetrical quadratic quality loss function was employed to stand for the loss of profit. In this ...

This paper examines the cost structure particularly cost elasticities, returns to scale, marginal cost of production, technological progress, demand for factor of production, and factor substitution in publicly owned State Transport Undertakings (STUs) in India. To examine these issues, a translog cost function is estimated jointly with factor share equations subject to required coefficient res...

We show that two basic mechanical processes, the collision of particles and rolling motion of a sphere on a plane, are intimately related. According to our recent findings, the restitution coefficient for colliding spherical particles ǫ, which characterizes the energy loss upon collision, is directly related to the rolling friction coefficient μroll for a viscous sphere on a hard plane. We quan...

In this paper, to model the path-loss characteristics in urban line-ofsight(LOS) propagation, we performed measurements in Goyang, Republic of Korea, at a frequency of 2.4GHz using the IEEE 802.15.4 standard. Although path-loss variance for any street existed, measurements yielded a typical pathloss of PL(dB) = L r    ) ( log 10 10  , where  is the path-loss coefficient, r is the street le...

Results of a self-consistent ultrafast study of nonlinear optical properties of silicon nanowaveguides using heterodyne pump-probe technique are reported. The two-photon absorption coefficient and free-carrier absorption effective cross-section were determined to be 0.68cm/GW, and 1.9x10(-17) cm2, respectively and the Kerr coefficient and free-carrier-induced refractive index change 0.32x10(-13...

Photonic routing has been attracting much interest to overcome the bottleneck of routing function in the broadband networks. This paper investigates theoretically the performance of an integrated-optic circuit for recognition of optical quadrature phase shift keying (QPSK) coded labels in photonic router. The analysis takes into account the effect of system impairments such as waveguide loss an...

We generate photon pairs in a-Si:H microrings using a CW pump, and find the Kerr coefficient of a-Si:H to be 3.73 ± 0.25 × 10-17m2/W. By measuring the Q factor with coupled power we find that the loss in the a-Si:H micro-rings scales linearly with power, and therefore cannot originate from two photon absorption. Theoretically comparing a-Si:H and c-Si micro-ring pair sources, we show that the h...
