In this paper, we use the weighted distance between fuzzy numbers to investigate the approximation of arbitrary fuzzy numbers by weighted distance. We then discuss properties of the approximation strategy including continuity, translation invariance, scale invariance and identity and give an application to the generation of fuzzy partitions. 2006 Elsevier Inc. The concepts of fuzzy source and fuzzy successor operators for an L-fuzzy automaton (L is a latticeordered monoid) are introduced, which turn out to be L-fuzzy closure operators. When L is a quantale, these operators introduce L-fuzzy topologies. These observations are then used to give topological characterization of the separatedness and connectedness properties of an L-fuzzy automaton. c ©20...

We show here some of our results on intuitionistic fuzzy topological spaces. In 1983, K.T. Atanassov proposed a generalization of the notion of fuzzy set: the concept of intuitionistic fuzzy set [1]. Some basic results on intuitionistic fuzzy sets were publised in [2,3], and the book [4] provides a comprehensive coverage of virtually all results until 1999 in the area of the theory and applicat...

LoA) and τ is a subalgebra of A . Morphisms (X,A, τ) (f,φ) −−−→ (Y,B, σ) are Set × LoA-morphisms (X,A) (f,φ) −−−→ (Y,B) such that φ ◦ p ◦ f ∈ τ for every p ∈ σ (the so-called continuity). Our definition subsumes the traditional latticevalued approach of [2]. The motivation for the new concept was provided by the problem of doing fuzzy mathematics without order. In [1] the authors consider a rel...

In this paper, we determine some stability results concerning the 2-dimensional vector variable quadratic functional equation f(x+ y, z + w) + f(x − y, z − w) = 2f(x, z) + 2f(y, w) in intuitionistic fuzzy normed spaces (IFNS). We define the intuitionistic fuzzy continuity of the 2-dimensional vector variable quadratic mappings and prove that the existence of a solution for any approximately 2-d...

The nearest trapezoidal fuzzy number to a fuzzy number, with respect to a well-known metric and preserving the expected interval, was determined in recent articles. In the present paper the properties of additivity and continuity of the trapezoidal approximation operator are studied. Keywords— Additivity, Approximation, Continuity, Fuzzy number, Trapezoidal fuzzy number.

A method for incorporating uncertainty in terrain modelling by expressing elevations as fuzzy numbers is proposed. Given a finite set of fuzzy elevations representative of the topographic surface in a certain region, we develop methods to construct surfaces that incorporate the uncertainty. The smoothness and continuity conditions of the surface generating method are maintained. Using this appr...

The introduction of intuitionistic fuzzy sets is due to K. T. Atanassov, who also proposed some problems about this subject. D. Çoker defined the intuitionistic fuzzy topological spaces and, with some coworkers, studied these spaces. In this paper, we define and study the notion of quasicoincidence for intuitionistic fuzzy points and obtain a characterization of continuity for maps between intu...

ur aim of this  paper  is  to introduce the concept of $L$-double fuzzy rough sets in whichboth constructive and axiomatic approaches are used. In constructive approach, a pairof $L$-double fuzzy lower (resp. upper) approximation operators is defined  and the basic properties of them  are studied. From the viewpoint of the axiomatic approach, a set of axioms is constructed to characterize the $L...
